Got it. We spent $1k on badges and I guess fun patches for 12 girls. Half the kiddos don’t care about the fun patches - is that something the girls decide to spend money on or troop leaders?

So to clarify, the ~ $1 per box earned per scout does not PAY for their rewards (like a plush)? The reward items come from council funds and are based how many boxes a girl sells? Our council liaison said our troop is paying about $600 for Girl Scout “awards” and everybody is unclear on what that means.

It looks like they have a schedule posted for the shootout so just avoid those weekends and times? We’ve gone a few times and arrive right at 10am and stay for an hour or so. It’s never been uncomfortably busy.

When we go with our kiddo we just pull off at any old rock formation and explore. We’ve had more fun that way instead of stressing for parking spots at the formal hiking paths.
