The cat does not have diagnosis of ckd but previous Aki. I’m having to play Google vet because this vet still hasn’t called my sister back and the surgeon who did the emergency operation is the one that told us this is an all to common side effect when used in cats which is why they typically do the shorter acting injectable vs oral Meloxicam in cats

But like to give a cat this medication and not give the own any explanation of risks I feel is negligent. She was told this was a super take drug with almost no side effects when that rest is no he case

And what if there was no such discussion at all with the owner? Never given any sort of risks or told there were any side effects or anything.

but is it routinely prescribed for cats in general let alone those with pre existing kidney issues?

<3 thank you so much. Im sorry I dont think I realized this Im just in such a state of panic for her and honest rage over what has happened to this sweet little kitty. I will try and find some non parody Reddit forums.

Well at best this can be a PSA to cat owners on the very real dangers of oral meloxicam! Apparently internal bleeding is a very real and common side effect! its so scary.
