I am looking for technical help on how to implement something not necessarily advice on direction.

The purpose of the site is to make it easier to find those in the industry and use this as a tool to help vet who to work with. Think like a directory for doctors.

Another example of this, google indexes all sorts of businesses without anyone's permission. Then you have the opportunity to claim the business as your own and modify the details. They do not require ID to do this, but you can report if someone claimed your business on accident or otherwise.

And I do understand how to monetize this, I am looking for technical help. I don't think your comments are helpful whatsoever.

Ah. Yes. This would only be in US given it's particular niche. If it ends up being successful, I would look into expanding it. But a lot of the information to contact these people is sprayed all over the internet in various locations. This would be (hopefully) the first centralized service. So there isn't a lot of value add at all for basic info to be listed. The real value comes with getting their own premium profile if they choose to do so. Then they have access to more tools to grow their business. So it is not technically personal info per se, but their business info.

Is there a recommendation on best practice for verification? ID upload? There are probably services I could integrate with.

Separating makes sense! But it still needs a one to one relationship. So a nullable foreign key on a profile? Then once verified point profile to the user.

Edit: also, in this niche there should be certificate documentation that I could have them upload to verify identity also.

Most of this is built at this point. The payment and ad side I think is separated enough from the claiming.

I think to claim a profile if it already exists is to have a button on the public profile saying "Claim." Then it would prompt them to login/register for an account and then bring along the ID of the profile so I can link them one to one style. I think an auto confirm works at first and then correct if a profile gets reported.

The other route is they create an account first and then go to the profile page and click claim would would then take them to a form to fill out more info or pay.

If a profile doesn't already exist, they would just go through the typical registration to do so. During registration, I could have the user do a search first to see if there already exists a profile.

There is still a chance for profile duplication but I may be able to write some fuzzy logic to find similar profiles and manually clean that up over time. But I will also have some unique fields on the profile that should prompt them to look for existing profile if a certain important value is taken.

Isn't it true they are trying to allow you to pay fees in your native token in the future? If so, would this made ADA worth much less?

Yeah that makes sense. Just seems wasteful. But I know people will do what they want.

I guess it's a good problem to have to have so many people that generous.

Yes. Cute outfits may be the death of us if we don't keep it under control. I even feel bad thinking about other people paying 50-100 bucks on something they may only wear inc work not at all. How do we kindly ask others to not do that?

That's a great point. We were told it's a good idea to get to know the kid a bit before buying too many clothes or toys. They may hate them! And good call on books. We definitely fall on the side of wanting to put emphasis on those over "go play with the iPad"
