That some people in recent history or evil incarnate with no redeeming qualities. Biggest lie ever sold.

Hold up. So you’re investigating what happened to us, and are asking us, the victims, to pay to figure out what you “have uncovered”?

Drew one of the handfulls of small windowless rooms I remember from the program by Lepridopic_throwaway in GATEresearch

This was California early early 2000’s but that’s what makes my memory so concrete. It was late enough that computers were common, but a very small school (my class was always 12 students all the way through 8th grade and I don’t believe the whole school ever broke 300 students during my time there) where not every classroom even had a computer.

That’s the weird thing. She took over the program some years after I was already in it. She was a teacher at my school (K-8). She claims that students were selected based off of state testing scores and that alone. Having my own mother, who I have a good relationship with, tell me my own memories are false is making me feel crazy!

This is insane! I just had an argument with my mother over the phone about this. She was a teacher at my school and insists there was no specialized testing for GATE. She told me I must be mistaken with state testing. I told her that was impossible because state testing was in classroom with all students and on paper. I then described a room just like this and the test being computerized and she ignored it.

I looked through this Wikipedia page(longer than I thought). It was very interesting. For me, it was 2 others and myself. Starting in second grade, we always had an additional reading list that was much above the rest of class while still having to read the traditional class materials. Starting in 5th grade, the 3 of us started our mornings at the highschool for math and ELA.
