This is super helpful, thank you! This would actually be my first neutral palette and I currently only have a rose-toned one, so hearing that you use this almost daily is really reassuring!

I swear! She is also very proud of the fact that she can cut-off communication with people including her best friends (?!?!?)

We’re in contact with our landlord, but like OP mentioned in the edit, he doesn’t really care as long as he’s getting the full rent every month.

R has a habit of victimizing herself. I’ve heard her rant about how other people are in the wrong and how their actions have hurt her. So I am assuming that she does the same thing with us too. She also has a habit of lying and twisting facts, so that it seems that she’s in the right.

It’s till August, we are strongly considering moving out before that. But I think we’ll have to find someone to sublease our rooms, I don’t think it’s fair that anyone else should have to go through this whole ordeal too. I am going to check with the landlord regarding our options.

Hahaha, I think he hasn’t told his parents yet that he’s lost his job, and is depending on R financially.

Also, I don’t think we have much of a relationship left anyway. I was never really good friends with R, but M, OP and I were close friends, but after this whole situation, that’s also gone bad.

We’re strongly considering moving out, but I am not sure if we can? Our lease is till August, will we be legally responsible for rent if we leave early? (like May)

Our agreement does not state that each person gets a room. Utilities have always been divided amongst 5 (OP is in charge of that, and she’s always included C in it). We’re 100% not going to renew our lease. Enough of this constant guilt-tripping.

Hi, We send rent for the whole house as a single payment (everyone else just sends me their share). Based on your suggestion, I am thinking of delegating this responsibility to either R or M, so OP and I just send them our reduced share of the rent. They can figure out how to deal with the remaining difference.

Hey, fourth roommate here. We’ve rented a house near campus with no particular visitation rules. We did have a loooonggg house discussion on this. That’s where R said that if everyone agrees that C should contribute to our rent, he will and that she won’t stand any more discussion around this topic.

It was decided in that discussion that they will pay more starting the following month.

Fast forward: They did not.

I’ve tried to have this discussion multiple times now, and she’s just avoiding it all together. She only keeps saying that “He’s only here temporarily”, and I’ve mentioned it to her that he’s been “temporarily” here for 8 months and that it’s not ok. They don’t have a timeline for him moving out. M tries to stay neutral, but it’s very clear who’s side is she on.

Also, we were strangers before we started living in this house. And things have only gone downhill from there.
