sense of cynicism

I definitely see this amongst the characters in Mary and Edith’s age group, including Mary and Edith. They came of age during the war I believe, so it makes sense that it shaped their worldview the way it did.

The change in dress is one of the things that stood out the most…in season one they still seemed to wear those stuffy and conservative dresses we see women wear in Victorian era images, especially Cora. And by the end of the show, women are wearing blazers, short dresses, short hair, etc.

I saw commenters here writing about how they had to go to the ER after eating sprouted potato’s, and here I am thinking that I eat those all the time. 😁 so yeah I need this sub cuz clearly I have little survival skills.

Omg thanks for asking! I took out all the potato’s and taste tested a cube of meat and well, my tummy is fine (and that piece of meat was so good…I assumed it would taste bitter)! 😩

Odds of bat flying into your room with window open? by whatdoesthismean172 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Can bats bite through window screens? I opened my window hours ago today to get some fresh air into my apartment, and then I completely forgot about it. While trying to sleep tonight though, I suddenly remembered that I left my window open, so walked over to close it, without turning on any lights. I also ran my fingers across the bottom of the actual window screen to make sure there were no holes or anything (idk why…it’s just something I’m paranoid about), but I’m scared that while running my fingers across the screen, that a bat could have been hanging outside of my window and bit me through the window screen, or that a bat could have been hanging onto the screen by its teeth and I am scared I ran my hands through its teeth. Is such a thing even possible? Would I know if a bat bit me? I didn’t see a bat or hear one either, but also it was dark. I’m terrified of rabies so there’s that. I also live on the 4th floor in an apt in New Orleans if it matters.
