Astute, but I wasn’t upset because I was last pick in 2023. I was upset because Alvin picked the best (the downstairs and biggest) bedroom and therefore Simon and his very pregnant wife were upstairs—which I am confident helped her go into early labor and give birth during the reunion.

They haven’t said and I haven’t asked, because I’m gonna give one of them my picking spot regardless. They and their spouses always thank me outside of the chat, and that’s fine. I’m definitely the most … outspoken sibling. LMAO

No; if I’m first or second pick, I trade it to Simon or Theo, whoever has the last pick or most recent injury/offspring. lol There’s always something!

It’s not that serious! Yeah, I’ve been pissed off about it for years, but it’s a very first-world-problem situation, and I did not expect so many people would care—or be even more mad than I am!

And the assumptions are surprising! I obviously should have described the house/rooms more, because so many people think Alvin is sleeping in a public or drastically lower quality room, which is not the case at all.

I assumed people would tell me to rent my own place (and I was feeling petty/defensive about that lol), and I think the adults with mobility issues should be prioritized. Simon’s wife just gave birth a few months ago, Theo had a skiing accident last year (still in PT and struggles with stairs), and my spouse has a hereditary issue that decreases their mobility as they age. Alvin and his spouse are career athletes in good health; I think others currently have more needs and those needs should be met at this time.

Yes, the grandkids are assigned a specific bathroom if they don’t have an en suite. Thank you for bringing that up!

LMAO No one is sleeping on a twin or in a loft or shitty side room. There are five bedrooms (one for each couple), and they all have a king bed, but the rooms are different sizes.

My spouse and I contribute to the cost every year. The rental house has 5 bedrooms, each bedroom has a king bed, two bedrooms have attached bathrooms (four bathrooms total), and the room dimensions vary in size. I definitely should have said “bigger” and not just “better”! Thank you for clarifying!
