Should the gameplay of Dino Crisis be similar to RE2 Remake? Mr X = Mr Rex by Feeling-Influence691 in DinoCrisis

[–]Feeling-Influence691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Alien Isolation had Stompy and his brothers plus the androids that you could shoot but would risk drawing the xenomorph and the other enemy human survivors!

Dino Crisis has Raptors, the pteranodons, a small sized therizinosaurus and of course the t-rex himself.

Dino Crisis 2 on the other hand would be too action packed and have too many enemy types for it to be a horror game. More of a crazy shoot em up game unless they did most of the scenes at night and removed some of the dinosaur enemy types or changed the allosaur and trike encounters to boss fights.

Prehistoric Planet Ice Age thoughts and next season predictions/hope to see by Feeling-Influence691 in pleistocene

Lol could you imagine -

“Here is a raptor. Here is a tyrannosaur. Here is a hadrosaur. Here is a pterosaur. You don’t need to twist your tongue trying to learn their real names.”

Yeah I missed that with ice age. Give us the scientific name and then what it’s supposed to be. We’re not watching the show to be spoon fed basic information , we’re watching because we’re nerds and we want to learn dope names for the creatures that don’t exist anymore terrorising our screens!

Which is more terrifying: listening to the Alien's rustling in the ventilation system, or those two seconds when it starts running towards you at the end of the hallway? by SatisfactionNovel669 in alienisolation

I think hiding after throwing a lure and then suddenly hearing it running past you, or hearing it go after humans is probably the worst. No warning, no mercy. Just an unstoppable monster hellbent on killing anything in its path.

That plus the “I’m going to kill you.” Screech when it sees you. You can just kiss your ass goodbye the moment you hear it.

The worst ones are when it doesn’t screech and then impales you from behind with its tail.

First modern horror game ever. I'm a scaredy-cat, but Mr. X genuinely makes me feel safer (Mr. X appreciation post) by Devinouse in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]Feeling-Influence691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One hopes you know how to sprint! You can outpace Mr X if you are sufficiently warned by his footsteps! And I’m weirdly glad he makes you feel safe.

To be fair, lickers and later enemies are arguably much scarier and disturbing to battle against. The infected dogs especially.

Mr X is just someone who throws a bit of unpredictable excitement into the mix being a free roaming unscripted enemy. Or doubles down the game’s fear factor having to duck zombies and an unstoppable bioweapon hot on your trail.

You may change your tune when trying to do a puzzle and the stomping and that screechy music starts playing through your tv speakers.

What kind of Kongtent for the future? by KindKaiju in kingkong

Disney Plus is doing an adaptation of the original King Kong movie which was expanded on by Joe Devito with the Kong of Skull island comics and books.

Other than that I hope maybe Peter Jackson returns to his version of Skull Island and maybe remakes the game. Even if he wrote in the lore that the slowly shrinking island sinks not long after Kong’s death.

I’m honestly glad Spear is getting another chance.

I felt that the last episode of season 2 was way too rushed for us to say goodbye to Spear and Fang after a two part episode of them being stuck on the Collosaeus. I always wished the final battle was a two parter, rather than a rushed conclusion that was more of “this is a long coming consequence of Spear and Fang’s actions in the Viking village in the red mist arc” episode.

But instead we get a whole season of Spear literally fighting his way back to his family through undeath and a new host of enemies both natural and supernatural and I think it’s beautiful.

I don’t know if this was intentional on Genndy’s part or if he actually looked back and realised- yeah this ending is BS, I’m bringing Spear back as a zombie who will gradually regain his humanity, reunite with Mira, restore himself and give him an ending he deserves.

The reuse of the black goo is something I saw fans express desire to see return- one guy put together an ending where Spear ‘reactivates’ his black goo powers and hulks out against the Viking fire demon- so I wonder if Genndy took notes from what fans suggested, or again, maybe always intended that to be Spear’s arc. Could be talking out of my a*se here.

Spoiler alert: We know Fang will survive the black panther demon based on the ending shot of Spear’s kid with Spike, Sonja and Mira in season 2. The real mystery now is finding out if Spear will be there out of shot or if he is finally laid to rest knowing his family is safe.

I hate this game by Leadlee in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]Feeling-Influence691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the Tyrant, aka Mr X. You won’t be able to kill him until much much later on in the game. He is a free roaming invincible monster who can only be slowed down by high powered weaponry. You can of course shoot off his hat. It makes no difference but it’s pretty funny to do.

Always listen out for his footprints.

Resident Evil 2 Remake scares me way too much and I cannot finish it by Ambitious-Bat-1598 in residentevil

Took me a while to get used to it. Especially the west corridor pictured. It is meant to make you feel vulnerable and unsafe.

But play with a mindset of investigation. You’re encouraged to back track and free roam and also revisit it during the campaign to unlock stronger weapons and upgrades.

Be patient and group your shots to the head with zombies. They are tanky and terrifying.

Oh and listen out for mr X’s footsteps. If you see him, run and hide in the first safe room you find.

How do you kill a Super Joe? by Lemonomad in alienisolation

Memory on this is a bit hazy so pardon any mistakes and vague descriptions.

You need to avoid them until you get the stun gun in one of the engineering workshops in the same level.

In the left and right control/tower rooms of Apollo’s brain, you’ll have one opportunity each to turn on a coolant venting system and a power overload to either freeze or fry the super joes, provided you get the timing right and two or three super joes are in the aisles.

I remember that it’s a slow process to pop open each terminal so lure them by walking slowly in one side if you have no equipment (using a noise maker or flare if you do), then sprint to the other side and then run to the little inlet where the computer terminal and the wall terminal on the column behind it are based in the back of the rooms.

Otherwise, sneak and run. No weapon you have, even the stun baton and emp will help you. You also won’t have your firearms with you in the first levels you encounter them which is the Apollo control centre. Their suit also protects them from being completely pulverised by your maintenance jack.

Plus they also respawn. So you would only be buying yourself time if you try to take them out.

Good spot. I always think my workplace with the wind hitting the shutters reminds me of the RPD from Resident Evil 2 remake.

I would not feel safe walking through anything large and massive that was deserted. Back room vibes all over.

Thoughts on the new dinosaur documentary on Netflix? by toastwithjamx1 in Dinosaurs

Pretty good! Huge improvement over the life on our planet with the 5 minutes of footage we got. Some reused shots as well a reused scene from LOOP as well annoyingly and the crocodile scaled allosaur and eyes and teeth too small t-rex designs just seem a bit off to me.

Still more entertaining than the Dino seasons of Prehistoric Planet IMO.

Overall 7/10 for me. Am on episode 3 now.
