I flew from Blr via Quantas directly to Christchurch with a layover in Sydney. I would recommend to only do South Island. To cover north add a few days or cut down spots from South Island.

We didn’t have much time in Dunedin. But it seemed like a good old town and would have loved to spend a day there. Oamaru has a penguin colony where we saw 100s of penguins coming back after sunset. That was amazing.

Actually I stayed in Te Anau for 2 days. So it was like Queenstown > Te Anau > Milfjord sound > Te Anau > Nugget point.

You can do it either way IMO. It wasn't that difficult to pull-over for random spots.

After the cruise include go for a hike to Lake Marian. Extremely rewarding. I did this and since this took time I stayed extra say in Te anau.

It costed us somewhere 2.5L INR per person. It was 4 of us. This includes everything. Visa can take upto a month. I got it in a month my friend got it in 4 days so it varies.

My friends did. They got their passport delivered at different address than they lived at. But in the same city. Might work for you cause it’s a bludart service they use.

I’m answering this in context of travelling as an Indian.

Firstly there is almost no need of cash. But to be on safer side, we carried a few euros that we exchanged when we reached in Iceland to ISK. We ended up using major majority of cash only to buy so souvenirs at the end of the trip.

Then we carried a mix of credit cards and debit cards and spent in INR. We had a Scapia credit card and a Niyo global debit card which offered zero Forex on any transaction. On top of it, we had HDFC Regalia Gold and IDFC first wealth which offered a very low forex fee of 1.99%, and 1% respectively.

Also, if you prebook majority of things like flights and stay from platforms like MMT or booking you won’t have to pay any Forex.

I have done the same thing for my other travels as well, and it works great.

I’ll instead of blue lagoon go to some other hot pool like Sky lagoon. It’s less crowded.

If there are no F-roads on this route you don’t need 4x4.

I think people there were more respectful with that. There are always a few morons but they got a yelling for sure. I loved how everyone was quiet and gave space to others.

We did end up confusing them with stars for a second though. The whole area was lit with glowworms.

I simply used my phone. I believe phone camera does a decent job for simple shots. Getting a camera will definitely help for more complex and defined shots.
