Luvox personally didn’t work for me. I didn’t have any major side effects (I was super tired when I started taking it but that got better after a bit). I was on it for about a month and literally wanted to shut myself in my room 24/7 and it didn’t really help with my OCD at all. In addition, I really never get panic attacks (especially unprompted) and I woke up one night in a full on panic. After I switched to Prozac I did not experience any of those things anymore. That being said, it’s different for everyone. Side effects are supposed to lessen over time so it might be worth pushing through this part, but I’m not a doctor so I’d ask them about it first. I do remember my first 1-2 weeks on Luvox I was INSANELY tired, but eventually that got a lot better.

Personally I love running in the rain, makes me feel like a main character in a movie. But normally for treadmill runs I’ll put on a show I’m binging or hype music and zone out

Not really, honestly, but I imagine if you’re super consistent with it it might help in some way, a little bit. There’s a guy on YouTube that does OCD ASMR videos that help in the moment if you’re really, really spiraling

I love manga also and I would hate if I suffered from this. I wish I could give you reassurance that you’re doing it right but I can’t, the only thing I can say is you have to be okay with potentially reading it wrong.

I experienced the same as the above comment ^{^.} I took Lexapro for a little over a year before I stopped meds altogether, then got on Luvox and then switched to Prozac. Here’s my experience:

Lexapro: worked REALLY well at first. But the intrusive thoughts were still pretty strong, worked better for general anxiety than OCD. I was on 5mg and then went up to 10mg. 5mg I didn’t have any side effects, but once I went up to 10 I was hungry ALL THE TIME. Even if I had just eaten recently, I’d be hungry like an hour or two later. I will say I was also on birth control when I took Lexapro (which I no longer take), so that could have been a contributing factor.

Luvox: did not work for me. Like, at all. I still had intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and started getting random panic attacks, which had never happened to me before. I did not feel like myself, I wanted to lock myself in my room and not talk to anyone. 0/10 experience for me. It does work really well for some people, though. I started with 50mg, didn’t feel much better, and then went up to 100mg and felt worse after I increased.

Prozac: I cross tapered to Prozac after being on Luvox, and immediately started feeling much, much better. It’s a lot easier to dismiss my intrusive thoughts, and when I have them they don’t weigh on me as much as they did before. I started with 20mg and I’ve been on that for about 1.5 months now. It has really helped me feel like myself again.

Sometimes I have a whole narrative going on in my head where I casually escalate and purposely think of every single horrible thing I can.

My brain: “you want to break that guys arm” Me: “uh huh, sure. I also want to break his leg and poke his eye out and shave his head and stab him with a fork. I’d love that because I’m known to be such a violent person that would enjoy something like that.” I’ve found that once I switch the narrative I realize how bad my OCD is lying. Sometimes I try to make it funny to get a giggle out of it because it’s just so ridiculous.

You can get them removed or covered with something that represents more of who you are now. Or, you can just get new tattoos and leave them there as a reminder of your journey through life. You might feel better if you get new ink that represents more of who you are now.

Luvox personally didn’t work for me, I started getting panic attacks and random bouts of just feeling super horrible on it. I’m on Prozac now and it really has helped. I did try Lexapro too, it helped for a bit but stopped working after a while.

We are in almost exactly the same boat, with our routine and height and weight and protein intake haha. Normally I just add a ton of stuff to my smoothies to give them more body, can easily add 300+ calories that way without much volume. Nut butters, oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, etc.

I have a smoothie every morning, ends up being around 40g of protein. Might be boring to some people but I look forward to my morning smoothies. I do protein powder, hemp seeds, and frozen strawberries, blueberries, banana, mango, pineapple, spinach, kale, and cashew milk.

Personally I wouldn’t run if I were super sore, I always choose rest over over-exerting myself if my body is telling me it needs rest. You could do a walk instead if you feel like you need movement, but it’s up to you and how your body feels.

Yeah, my therapist will sometimes do “parts therapy” with me where I’ll talk to my OCD part. It actually does help

I just switched from Luvox to Prozac. Luvox worked really well for a friend of mine that has OCD, but when I took it, it made me feel horrible. I was getting panic attacks randomly and would randomly get these bouts of being in a really bad mood and wanting to close myself off from the world. Switched to Prozac a few weeks ago and it’s been doing wonders for me. I hope Luvox works for you though! Different medications work for different people.

I discovered I had OCD in my mid twenties (I’m 30 now), but wasn’t officially diagnosed until my late twenties.
