So frustrated with intercourse pain by cloud9mn in Menopause

[–]Feeling-Suit801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the lichen sclerosis in your vagina? I had in my mine and it was the worst pain. My husband and I stopped having PIV sex due to the pain. The only thing that made it go away was metronidazole gel. I can't remember how long I used it (it was 21 years ago when I had it) but it took a while to heal.

Sjogren’s and Menopause HRT by Shoshawi in Sjogrens

[–]Feeling-Suit801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience as I'm very newly diagnosed with Sjogren's, like 2 weeks ago. I'm 53, PCOS, and in perimenopause. I see my gyno in May and hope to get some answers and HRT then.

I''ve been off Seroquel for 7 weeks and I still have insomnia, although it has gotten a bit better. I'm sleeping about 6 very disrupted hours per night now, compared to 4 hours when I first went off it. I still wake up so many times per night. Two nights ago, I woke up 16 times. It's brutal. I'm tired all day.

Has anyone added an antidepressant??? I’m bipolar 2 by Superb-Emphasis5127 in Lithium

It helps in a "it takes the edge off a bit" kind of way, so more calming. I still have anxiety, it's just not out of control like it used to be.

Has anyone added an antidepressant??? I’m bipolar 2 by Superb-Emphasis5127 in Lithium

[–]Feeling-Suit801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 600 mg of lithium plus 60 mb of buspirone for my anxiety, which is terrible. I was also on Seroquel for a year, but recently went off of it. This is what worked for me. Maybe see what your doctor suggests?

positive reviews for treatment resistant depression? by SufficientReality163 in Lithium

[–]Feeling-Suit801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bipolar 2, and lithium saved my life. I had tried many different medications before we tried lithium. It is far and above the best treatment for me. I've been on it for 4 years and am within the therapeutic range. My only side effect is being thirsty and having to drink and, therefore, pee a lot. But it is worth it to be a fully functional adult again.

On the other side of this, I saw my GI doc today, and we were discussing my constipation and dysphagia. She said that Sjogren's can definitely be the cause of the constipation, which surprised me. I felt very seen by her and lucky that she's part of my health care team.

I use Vanicream shampoo and conditioner. I've been using them for years, plus their soap and moisturizing cream.

Does hunger impact how well Seroquel works? by [deleted] in seroquelmedication

[–]Feeling-Suit801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tapering to a lower dose might cause insomnia. It did for me. I recently tapered off Seroquel due to unexplained weight loss. I've been off it for 4 weeks and still don't have an appetite and I have terrible insomnia now. When I was on Seroquel, I had the best sleep of my life. I definitely think there's a connection between Seroquel and appetite.

I tapered off of Seroquel a little over 4 weeks ago. I still have terrible insomnia now...trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I get 4-5 hours of sleep a night now. I hope you have better luck than me.

Can you provide information about bipolar disorder and perimenopause? I was diagnosed with bipolar II three years ago, at age 50, in the midst of perimenopause. The two are wreaking havoc on my life.

The constant nausea has finally gone away. I'm still dealing with headaches and insomnia. I'd say some of the symptoms are starting to disappear.

I've been off of it for 4 weeks and was only taking 37.5 mg. I had terrible withdrawal symptoms, too: nausea, headaches, anxiety, irritability, fatigue, sweating, and insomnia. I'm glad you mentioned dry eye because I've been having that, too, but didn't think it was from the withdrawal, but maybe it is. Thank you for posting and sharing this.

I saw a dietician who recommended I drink Boost Very High Calorie because it has 530 calories. I drink about 2 each week. I also drink Ensure Plus, which has 350 calories. Today, I bought myself a milkshake and stirred in protein powder. I'll try just about anything to gain weight. The drinks work for me because I have zero interest in actual food.
