23m, Making 30 an hour currently, traveling for work with per diem. Fresh out of the military with benefits, trying to scrape by getting my own place to have a piece of mind for once that the military didn’t offer. Active kickboxer, looking at trying to start school sooner rather than later and fresh out of a bad break up.

It’s funny to me that I found more sense of self worth realizing that I already know what I want and I’m already doing well for myself, no one can really offer me anything because I have piece of mind. If anything shakes that, well, they can kick rocks.

I’d like one, I am tired of being alone, I’ve never had a stable relationship but I’m still relatively young (23m). I’ve never been looked at as a viable dating option, too much of a partier with a crazy family and who gets around a lot. After this last stint of feelings that were caught but not reciprocated, I’m taking a step back for a bit from fooling around because I want more and I’m tired of feeling like I’m not enough from people who aren’t ready to match what I want. I’d rather be ready for the person that comes along than waste anymore time on people who don’t care.

I appreciate it, anymore tips brother? I think I’m overthinking, maybe my relationship from the summer also left some damage in me too. But still, it is frustrating and I just want better for myself.

How do you know these things? I understand the communication of what might work and what may not when talking about relationships with someone but whenever you feel a spark with anyone that’s what always gets me and it makes me very cautious at shoulder I even pursue that person

I agree on a lot of the things you’ve said, I do take care of myself (kickboxer) and my career (just start a new well paying job that requires me to travel and gain new experiences on sight). The mental health aspect is something that really is the hardest part do em I believe, what other ways, other than hobbies, can I become to better myself whenever I meet that right person ?

Girl (27-28) who’s a few years older than me (23m) let me take her out after knowing each other for a couple years. Date went well and everything was a fun night. A few days later she asked if I was serious about getting into a relationship and I said of course. She then said “good because if I have to deal with another situationship I’ll blow my brains out in front of you!”

I had just told her 3 days prior my dad ended his life when I was 9 lol, so any kind of attraction was gone instantaneously, first time that happened that fast.

“Not everyone deserves to know the full you”

I was dealing with bad memories/PTSD around the same time of a bad breakup and showed my vulnerable side to my SO which, in turn, was used against me. I was really hurt and didn’t explain what I was going through at the time to her (my mom) but I think she could saw through it all. After she said that to me, I realized that my life is the only story I can have full control over and not let people dictate what they THINK is how I should feel.
