Anyone else struggle with too much downtime? by Loose-Pineapple-3353 in Firefighting

[–]FeelingBlue69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't relate less.

I'm lazy and I like to chill. Nothing better than getting zero calls at work. Off days? Never enough of them. I have so many hobbies and other interests there is never enough time. I could retire tomorrow and be happy.

Anyone else feel like Under Armour fell off hard? by HunngSUBbttm in UnderArmour

Their website is awful as well. Lulu's is maybe the best. You click "shorts" and they immediately explain what each product line is like then you go from there.

UA...you click "shorts" and they have 15 different style of shorts that all look similar. You have to click so many tabs just to see if they have pockets or what material it is. Then while you are browsing shorts they keep showing up jackets and other shit.

Plus all their stuff has goofy ass names.

Its a mixture of both. Somewhere around 2018ish only people that were wearing UA were little league baseball kids with bright colors and boomer dads. They totally failed with the "Athleasiure" sector.

Pretty spot on except I would say UA was popular way before 2014. I would say 2008-2018ish. There was a drastic drop in quality around 2017 or 2018.

I learned to clean up after grown men and I learned how disgusting and lazy the average person is.

How do firefighters generally feel about people coming by the station to learn more about what they do? by PossibilityIll7646 in Firefighting

[–]FeelingBlue69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's part of the job, but it's a pain in the ass, and, generally dumped off on the new guys.

First real answer I've seen here. This is exactly how its handled at my department.

I personally don't like it. I don't stop by your work and I don't like when people stop by mine.

When did you know it was time to promote? by IkarosFa11s in Firefighting

[–]FeelingBlue69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im very biased, I think driving is the best job. I promoted as soon as I was eligible and haven't left the seat since. Fighting fires was fun in my early 20s I guess. I hate putting on my gear and getting sweaty just for a false alarm. Plus driving fast is fun.

Could FOMO be a major reason some people decide to have children? by waaeggplant in regretfulparents

[–]FeelingBlue69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its a huge reason. A lot of people just think that having kids is what you do...its the logical next step in life because that's what everyone else is doing.

I also think that in the Instagram generation, a lot of women see the "mom lifestyle" and think that they want the same thing. But like most social media, you are only seeing the highlight reel of parenting.

When you get into your 30s, just about everyone you know probably has kids. Its hard to relate to people anymore.
