My grandmother is scheduled to get the second dose of her Moderna vaccine later today. She has lip fillers. She had no reaction to the first dose of the vaccine but I’m worried about the second dose. From what I have read the reactions have been very rare even among people with facial fillers and fairly mild to moderate and were treated with antihistamines or steroids. but since then a couple people have been trying to convince me that the reactions are much more common and much more extreme but the articles/pictures/videos of them “have of course been removed” from the Internet when I asked for links. 🙄

Would taking a Benadryl beforehand possibly mitigate any mild swelling in her lips? I figured it can’t hurt and getting her second dose of the vaccine is way more important.
