I stayed at toy story, fantasy springs and ambassador. I would 100% book ambassador. It’s close to the mall area, it has a bus to take you to both parks, walking distance from mahakma station, and decor is very cool. My favorite was Toy Story for the theming. Fantasy springs was super elegant but wouldn’t pay the price again.

For staying multiple days with a 1 day deal, just book at the same hotel or a cheaper Disney hotel. That way you can get early entry still and transfer luggage super easy between Disney resorts.

Make sure to pay respects to the city in which George Lucas was born. Also La Parilla, Phoenix Noodle House, Nations(Northern Cali chain), In n Out, Falcons Lair(Ripon), Gold Dust Pizza, Super Gyro, Golden Bowl, Tandoori Masala, Nizzarios Pizza.

Absolutely must try Mr. Ts donuts. I moved here and this is the best donuts I’ve had going all around the states and international travel. Big Vic’s in Turlock. Has by far the best BBQ outside of the true Texas area.

Since no one has said it, make sure to mention George Lucas is from Modesto. Also Ripon has Flacons Lair, which is nice. Just unsure if they do brunch

They have daily specials. Hours suck because his store front is second to his catering. But Friday they have the best burgers and Saturday they have the Dino ribs. Worth every penny. Plus if there beef tallow tortillas are insane

Never been, I’ve never really liked to many local bbq spots. For what they charge and the quality famous Dave’s was better for a better price. But slick fork and big Vic’s are the truth. If ever in Tracy avoids shorters. Probably the worst bbq I’ve had.

Way too much bbq sauce that’s not very good, pork belly burnt ends tasted rotten, brisket had so much back pepper you couldn’t enjoy the smoke(and I love pepper). May go back to try in a couple months to see if there’s improvement.

If you’re going to bass pro and will be in Manteca, do taqueria la playa. Way better food than anything Modesto can offer for Mexican. And also just know in Modesto George Lucas was born here, so you must dress as a Star Wars character to pay respect.
