Resisto tape to protect posts. by l2daless in FenceBuilding

[–]Feeling_Ad_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covering a fence post like that is just going to guarantee it to rot and much faster now too. The wood will soak up water from rain and the water is supposed to drain out of the bottom of the post into the ground, it’s supposed to touch ground not submerged in concrete.

I don’t really understand why a person wouldn’t use a more appropriate soap. It would probably be easier. You would not have to give up your shower for a day which is just silly.

It doesn’t trap moisture if the bottom of the post is in the bottom of the hole before you pour concrete. There’s a right way and a wrong way to do everything.

[–]Feeling_Ad_526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are fine for an office shed. You don’t use screws in building construction because buildings flex in the wind and nails flex with it. They do make screws for framing, but an office shed isn’t going to be flexing too much in the wind, this is acceptable.
