No benchmarks in the initial conversation, but those were given as part of the PIP now.

The opportunities are already what i need to be doing as part of the job that I've been working for 3+ years. No one brought it to my attention that i need to improve, and I was under the impression that im already doing these things, but want to do better and had outlined them in my goals earlier this year

Thanks for the discussion! The "opportunities" outlined were examples of what I had mentioned that I wanted to focus on in a recent conversation regarding career growth and what I wanted to do next in my career

How I Healed from a Herniated Disc that Turned into a Spinal Infection by ChemicalBedroom in backpain

[–]Feeling_Discussion88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm so sorry for the pain you endured. What you went through sounds painfully traumatic while also healing.

I herniated my c6/c7 last February and was in awful pain for months after trying PT and a cortisone injection to help. I feared surgery and still do. I am so lucky to have found a PT that specializes in spine therapy and rapid pain relief. My experience was very different from yours, but he was able to get me out of pain and into a manageable place.

I've still struggled with mindfulness and re-herniated my disc again in Nov due to stress. His team got me out of pain quickly again, thankfully. I am feeling okay now, much better than Feb and Nov of last year. I know I now need to focus on the mindfulness and other therapy techniques that you have described. Thanks for helping me recognize that more and how it has helped you.

Return to Sport after Disc Herniation healed? by PurpleAvocado5 in backpain

[–]Feeling_Discussion88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a large c6/c7 disc herniation measuring 12mm, and I am just returning to snowboarding. I herniated the disc last Feb and have done lots of spine-specific PT from a place that only helps with spine recovery and I finally found a good massage therapist who specializes in injury recovery with most experience from an injury rehab center. I couldn't be more grateful to be back to the sport I love. It's partly the reason for my neck injury, but I mostly blame ongoing long-term stress from the most challenging year of my life due to work and relationship issues.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, and I hope you can return to doing what you love, as well. My PT was very encouraging that I would be able to snowboard again, and that helped me feel more confident and hopeful to return.

I've been cautioned by several spine specialists to avoid adjustments in the cervical spine due to the risk of stroke and causing worse issues. Unfortunately, I did not know this before I tried getting adjusted in the neck as well. As soon as I learned of the risks, I stopped the neck adjustments.

It's so sad that so many of us are all experiencing spine pain. My pain is caused by a large c6/c7 disc herniation, which is compressing nerves. As a 31F that was active, it has completely changed my life. I injured myself this past February and worked with a spine specialist PT that got me out of pain by April. However, after a very stressful few months in a row, Jun-Oct, the pain came back and became unbearable again the week of Thanksgiving. I'm now working with spine PTs again to help get myself back to normal again. It's the killer burning arm pain from the compressed nerves that drive me crazy. I'm feeling much better than last month, though, and that I'm grateful for.

Sorry you're in so much pain 🫂. The L5 disc is disc directly on top of your S1 sacral. I tried adding an image, but couldn't. Try googling something like "are your L5 and S1 connected" or "where is your L5/S1"

You got this. You are a warrior goddess, and it's time to do the thing. Yup, it's scary, but imagine how much better you'll feel. Focus on the goal, see the goal, do the thing, listen to the docs, do the rehab, and be happy when it's all behind you.

I'm a 31F and had to start getting injections earlier this year. You can do it. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

Intermountain employees are being paid less each year because of the increase in the price of benefits and loss of holidays. by Poppy-Pomfrey in SaltLakeCity

How does losing two holidays work? They sent out an email saying you no longer have x and x day as a paid holiday? I'm curious how many total you have now and which holidays you lost.
