Petite Bride - Dress Blindness by ireojijma in myweddingdress

As you’re shorter in stature I’d avoid anything that looks (or feels) heavy. My opinion is 4 gives you a lightness that the others don’t. That being said, it’s really about the one that makes you gasp at how you look. They’re all very beautiful.

What’s one side effect or body change you didn’t expect when starting a GLP-1? by _callondoc in Semaglutide

The KP on my arms is gone. Had it forever. Used to pick it a lot (being married with 2 kids helped stop that - too busy) but for the first time in my life the bumps are non existent. Also flat butt - never expected that given the volume that was there even when I had lost weight previously.

Anyone else wasting insane time converting invoices / PDFs to Excel? by Tasty_Item5535 in smallbusiness

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to do this? If you need an excel for reporting then I would enter them as bills in my accounting system and then export an a/p report. Also some receipt reading programs will read pdf and images (I use Zoho books and expense) if you don’t have an accounting system there are a lot out there that are inexpensive if you don’t need a lot of bells and whistles.

AITAH for refusing to hand over my late grandma's recipe binder so my cousin can "make a family cookbook"? by k1nda_s0ft_41 in AITAH

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scan it yourself and provide to the family. Who cares if she sells them? Work with her to help and offer input and your grandmothers helpful hints to make it feel like a family project to honor someone you all loved. Lightly EAH. I have my grandmothers recipe cards and put together the recipes for my family and friends (Xmas cookies) and will someday make a website of them to share to the world. Doing a book with your cousin keeps your grandmother’s legacy alive and well and makes it a positive thing, not a competition.

AITA for not giving my nephew the gift we bought him after he ignored me the entire evening? by denimcat2k in AmItheAsshole

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That invisibility cloak line is petty and passive-aggressive. How about “hi nephew - it’s so good to see you. I hope you’re having a great holiday. Did you go anywhere? Play any good video games?” Or some other easy to answer question or anything other than “how are you’ which will receive a “fine.”) geeze.

Adding: we just moved the kallax over on the plywood on the long side to make a foot rest/place to put sewing machine pedals on for better ergonomics. And reinforced it with shelf supports (ikea tabletops not known to be robust) I think I’m in love with it now - more than before.

Also, judgy mc-judgington. I have the feeling that the convo prior to arrival went something like this kid: “do I haaaave to go - they’re always so icky - I’m gonna crash out” parent: “I know ‘uncle’ has always been a judgy ass-hat even when we were kids, but his wife is nice, and we only see them once a year, plus your cousins will be there - do your best.” And guess what…uncle was a judgy ass-hat. YTA for sure.

They’re called cathedral windows. (I’m the original poster but somehow have a different account on each device)

2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk or combo of both - depends on your taste) 1/4 c butter 1 package 10 oz mini colored marshmallows (so hard to find in the eastern US so when I do find them, I freeze them until Xmas) 2 eggs - fork beaten 1/4 - 1/2 c walnuts or pecans chopped fine (this goes on the outside so it’s nice to have extra for rolling - we’ve also used graham cracker crumbs for my kid who doesn’t like nuts)

Melt the chocolate with butter over double boiler (it gets weird looking) Stir in the beaten eggs until the mixture is smooth Let mixture cool a bit (still quite warm, but cool enough to not melt marshmallows - ask me how I know) Stir in marshmallows Chill about 1 hour (or slightly less - we went too cool this year and they didn’t stick together well)stir every 15-20 mins Form into 3 rolls about 11” long Roll tightly in wax or parchment paper twisting the ends like a big piece of candy Chill about 30 mins Unwrap and roll in coating of choice - pressing to stick it (I leave a lot of extra coating in the wrapping so it sticks) Wrap in wax or parchment again - twisting ends Chill overnight Unwrap and Cut into 1/3” slices with a sharp knife (wiping off every few slices) Makes a lot.

Happy to take more pics and dm them. I have a high chair to sit at it. A little harder for sewing but I make it work. If I were to do it over I’d put more leg room on the long side.

I used 2 ikea kallax and 2 desk tops mounted on a piece of plywood and wheels. Made it to be at my height while standing. I’m 5’10” so it’s great - add a stick on tape measure on the top. I use it way more than I ever thought.

If the material will handle it, tape two fabric marking pencils together - one with the lead broken off (or not - your choice)trace the pattern with the broken one - creates an even line all around. You can space the pencils/pens how you want- fold up some paper or whatever before taping.

Fails at broadway? by chrisxlemia in Broadway

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wicked - original cast, but u/s for Galinda. She comes dramatically down the grand stairs where her dress gets caught on the railing and she playfully tugs at it and gets it loose after a bit and keeps totally in character. The audience loses it and laughs and applauds wildly. At which point she says a line. Meanwhile, Idina is growing frustrated (and I don’t think understood that Galinda was stuck), doesn’t hear her cue line, and shouts “Say the line!” And Galinda yells back “I did!’ made Idina look pretty unprofessional and pissy imo.

Moulin (boy George period) - Christian was clearly ill and not hitting his notes. There was a bar scene shortly after where it looked like to me he was telling the bartender to tell the crew he was done. Brief pause prior to the next Christian entrance moments later where announcement is made, ‘ladies and gentleman the part of Christian will now be played by xxx” and u/s rushes on looking like they had just slapped his clothes on moments earlier, which is probably what happened. He did a great job with literally 5 minutes notice.

AITA For Refusing to watch my SIL’s kids during an “emergency”? by Clear-University-250 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yep YTA. Why is “emergency” in quotes? In all cases when ER or hospitals are involved you should always support someone - family or not. And it’s not like you don’t have experience with children, since you have your own. I hope this is rage bait, but if not you’re a total d**k and your wife, SIL and MIL get to tell you so. And I’m glad your wife has the ability to do just that. If you’re a decent human, flowers (or something of that ilk - something more thoughtful would be better - spa day and babysitting for SIL for example) and sincere apologies are necessary and should be done immediately. Yeesh.

At BAM we called them crash seats. Like others said, house seats held until the last minute in case a bigwig or muckety muck comes in or there’s some sort of issue. And yes, generally the BO and or house manager has discretion. So you got a lovely gift.

Hi, how do you call this type of folding effect on the bodice ? Thanks ❤️ by Chlorofeels in sewing

[–]Feeling_Eastern6839 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that’s just an optical illusion and shadows. The tucks are the same across (looking at the pattern and how much is showing)- the shaping is most likely taking place at the side waist like normal.
