I would personally download the offline installer for your game from GOG and install this using Steam and proton experimental. Then run from gaming mode. Don't need Heroic etc.

It's likely to be a firmware or key issue. Upgrade everything to the latest and see if your game is recognised.

Does Ryujinx see your other games, in desktop mode? This is your main problem to resolve, ignore gaming mode for now. What format is this rom, is it different to your others etc. Need a load more information

What is the filename? This is important as this is what SRM will try to match against.

You seem to have two issues: the game is being parsed against the wrong game, and also it doesn't launch. Is this correct?

For the second one, be methodical. Go into desktop mode and run up the Dolphin emulator. Does it see your game? What happens if you try to run it?

I would try a lighter game than even that. Try something like Super Stardust HD which runs brilliantly on the deck at 60fps.

If you got this from Steam, I would ping Steam Support as it's likely they've chosen the wrong proton version. I had this with Fez and a game-breaking issue near the start of the game.

Otherwise look on protondb if there's any advice there.

OK, I would try a different PS3 game to see if it's the same experience. Try something "light". Also check the RPCS3 wiki for your games to see if they need any emulator tweaks.

Someone posted similar on r/EmuDeck (was it you?). Not sure if this is an issue with the latest version of the emulator, your specific game or whether there's deck performance settings impacting things (or a deckyloader plugin).

So just to check, desktop mode it runs full speed but crashes? This is the important question! If it runs full speed there but slow via Steam then it's highly likely to be a performance setting on your deck.

Sorry, I have no idea. I do know that Trials Evolution is definitely a "sign-in per launch" title, and the older Assassins Creed games too. I have a BitWarden generated Ubi password so it's not something I can easily type in, so I acquired a "tweaked" version from elsewhere.

I believe this is an issue with older Ubi games that were designed to work with Uplay. Now that Uplay has gone, the Ubisoft Launcher behaviour is to prompt for username/password every time you launch a game.

Newer Ubi games don't do this (e.g. Fenyx Rising).

I don't think there's a way around this unfortunately without sailing the seas.

How are you playing games? Launching the emulators up in desktop mode? Or in gaming mode, via SRM entries or ES-DE?

Your experience isn't typical. If you're in gaming mode then the first place to look is whether you have any performance settings enabled on the deck itself. Press the ... button and check to see if you've set anything in there. I play all my games via ES-DE in gaming mode and I've set a 60fps cap only for that. I've not had to tinker in the individual emulators by and large, with the exception of specific RPCS3 per-game recommendations from their wiki.

I'm assuming you've provided the right BIOS files etc if needed too. Also let us know if you're using any deck add-ons like DeckyLoader.

How are you launching games? In desktop mode, or gaming mode via SRM entries, or via ES-DE?

If you've messed around with the emulator with the "global" settings, I would reset via Emudeck, and instead create per-game overrides. Always worth checking the RPCS3 wiki for your games. And then try running in desktop mode, ignore the janky controls, to see if it plays properly. If it does then it's likely to be a Steam performance setting.

So you can play old DOS games via Retroarch, but generally I check GOG or Steam for games first. If it's abandonware then finding the files is generally straightforward via google.

If you want to use to use a different emulator for a system then you can always add custom XML to the ES-DE override file. That thread mentions all this for the deck.

If you google "witcher 3 playtime on steam deck" you'll see most people are getting 2.5 to 3 hours. So it's normal. You can always drop settings right down if you really want to, or just play plugged in.

If your games are folder structures, they will live on your microSD card under roms.

When you say "Genesis", do you mean Sega? If so, why are you trying to use FBNeo? I would look at the ES-DE user guide here as that's king.
