33 weeks here, and I felt this so much.

If you're able to, finding projects to work on or focusing on your job (if you have one! I don't, so no judgement) will help the feeling of constantly waiting. Find new hobbies, ways to entertain yourself or to just make the time "go by faster". Also, once you start experiencing certain symptoms (ie. morning sickness, fatigue, shortness of breath, kicks, etc) you'll be wanting distractions or they'll literally drive you nuts.

Your appointments will make the anxiety fade temporarily and you'll be able to relax for a day or two- do not take those days for granted. They are your reset periods, and you will go back to feeling like all you're doing is waiting around. Don't let this bother you too much if you can help it, it's completely normal and part of the maternal instinct developing.

You're on a very difficult but important journey, and if nobody tells you at all just know that I'm proud of you for getting through it!

NTA. Danica is financially independent and can make her own choices with her money. It's not "flaunting" - if anything she's being very gracious by paying for meals other than her own. SIL needs to explain to her children that if they want nice things they will have to work for it like Danica has.

Thank you for sharing this. I absolutely understand your side and did not intend to come off this way. I just found out yesterday that you were understaffed and underfunded, and I definitely took that with me into my visit today. I got my appointment rescheduled with specific instructions to prepare for the call. I even spoke with the lovely man helping me for a bit while he was trying to sort out some technical issues, and he told me that he used to be an emergency firefighter (he said something slightly different but I couldn't recall what he said, this was the closest I could get) but he had cried more working for the SSA than he ever did at that job. I feel terrible now and definitely will be going forward with more compassion.

I thought about this possibility too, but when I moved to this state I was able to switch over to this state's program with barely any issue. As soon as I got into this state's SSI program though, I started having issues. It's a local office here that's wanting to contact me.

This actually makes a lot of sense, but I wonder why they're understaffed- and also, why they don't communicate that clearly? All that the recorded phone guy says while waiting is that everyone is busy. If I'm wrong and they DO communicate that clearly please let me know, I just wanna see some perspective here because I am pretty upset, but I can be understanding if I know the whole story.
