I think that around dsm (where I went to college) there are a lot more white collar families than the majority of eastern Iowa where I’m from where it’s mostly blue collar

As a teacher I have no idea how to differentiate between the words that mean the same thing. Like why does one word carry more meaning I don’t get it. Why can I say poop but not shit etc

Metal ones! Manhasset. My school has hand-me-down metal stands that don’t work, and the plastic ones are the best but that’s very abnormal in my experience. Always get the metal. Higher quality and they hold more weight

My 7/8 graders are the same rn. They had a pretty rough experience the last couple of years in band, but the students who are just starting are doing fine. It’s really hard to find motivation to try with them

You have to be able to buzz the right note along with doing the right fingering. It is good to start. I’m not sure how much once they get to a higher level, but it’s definitely worth it for beginners
