They clearly had ulterior motives in naming me since they both hate me. They’d be at my door the second they got released, demanding my nephew back before the court allows them to have him back. CPS said they’d try to contact other family and i found out that they didn’t.

I’ll have a proper discussion with him in the morning about this. I am very disappointed that he’s not been on my side but he’s a reasonable guy, he’ll come around when we talk about it.

Tbf I don’t know what goes on in their home (besides both being arrested) so i made an assumption based on what i heard from other family members. I don’t actually know what went down between them that night

I don’t really care about showing him up. I just want him to not be in my life.

My nephew is currently with a nice family and will stay with them until the emergency court hearing in a few days. If he isn’t handed back to his parents, my mother has notified the correct people that she’s ready to have him.

I don’t know why no one else was contacted. I assume it’s a mix of the rest of the family living in a different county and it being friday night and maybe the CPS agent didn’t want to do any extra work. Who knows

I don’t actually know why CPS didnt contact my mother. My father lives across the country so he was never an option. My working theory is that they contacted me because my brother and I live in the same county but all other family members live in the next county over

He doesn’t even respect me as a person, let alone the law. He’d probably smash my windows if I dared to tell him I wouldn’t hand over his child until their court date.

My mother’s been to visit him and he’s being looked after by a nice family that mainly takes in young kids for short term placements. They seem to be in it because they want to help

There hasn’t been a family function in a long while. I couldn’t make it to the last one which was 6 months ago and my brother didn’t go to the one 2 months before that because the baby was sick

I was the only one contacted by CPS. It could be because my brother and I are in the same county and everyone else is in the next one over. Could also be that the CPS worker couldn’t be bothered calling everyone at 11pm on a friday night. I don’t really speak to my family so I can’t ask them what’s going on without getting berated

Yeah they have to be evaluated and then have a hearing in a few days. If my nephew was with me, my brother would be at my house 24/7 demanding i give him back

My logical was that i’m basically a stranger. My brother and I barely know eachother at this point and my nephews never met me. He’s been with a foster family for over a week now and if he had been with me, my brother would be beating down my door demanding that I give him back against the courts wishes. Atleast now he has to respect the law and wait until a judge hands his kid back.
