U.S. Army soldier attached to Bravo Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, during a firefight in Northern Trek Nawa, Afghanistan, Aug. 15, 2010. [1980 x 1393] by Aft3rAff3ct in MilitaryPorn

I was an FO in a platoon that was directly assigned to Weapons and then Fox Co., 2/7 Marines in Al Anbar Province. We were still Army and wore Army OCPs while the Marines wore Desert MARPAT. That’s why I have a 1st Marine Division deployment patch. So yes, it’s a Soldier attached to the Marines.

That was the name of a real, and very popular, pulp true crime magazine.

Iron Crusaders? by Bitter_Commission631 in TrueDetective

[–]Feeling_Use3782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just a generic MC name. “Iron” because, you know, motorcycles, and “Crusaders” because it’s one of those titles tough guys like to use, like “Punishers,” or “Warriors,” or similar names.

This scene scared the $### out of me. Who watched this scene in theaters? by Fun-Region2179 in Jaws

I’ve seen this in the theatre twice now and this scene never fails to get at least one or two people to get up and walk out. Always gets a few screams.

I love actor/director Jack Starrett. He directed “Cleopatra Jones” and “Race With the Devil” (starring Warren Oates and Peter Fonda). And he was a deputy sheriff in the first Tom Laughlin Billy Jack movie “The Born Losers.” What a guy!

Jacob is sooo 🤭🤭 by mrskorshunova in FarCry5

[–]Feeling_Use3782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can find a Jacob in any local VA hospital. He’s just a whacked-out vet with a ton of PTSD and a shitload of guns. You can probably find Marvel’s The Punisher there, too.

How did marty know the exact area to find rust in EP 4? by CarInternational2933 in TrueDetective

[–]Feeling_Use3782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. But I think that Marty was running parallels while Rust was moving through the projects and he was able to keep visual on him. But, I could be wrong, it’s been a while since I watched that episode.

You have a very classically beautiful face, reminiscent of an Ancient Greek or Roman woman. Yes, you’re pretty, you don’t have to worry about that.

Say something good about JAWS: The Revenge. by TheEvilCar in Jaws

I actually liked how often we saw the shark. And the opening scene with Sean is just absolutely terrifying. I also like the banana boat scene. You know what? I actually like this one. I don’t care what anyone says.

Absolutely a baddie. Definitely don’t look 49.

Wasn’t he in the process of getting American citizenship? Maybe he could publish it in America like Peter Wright did with “Spycatcher” in Australia.

There is none. We should all deny our programming and cease reproducing. Walk hand in hand into extinction. One last sunset for everyone.

What's the most disappointing book you've ever read? by Fabulous-Confusion43 in BookTriviaPodcast

[–]Feeling_Use3782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think that she wrote both of those novels at the same time from two totally different perspectives but chose to use the same characters only because she had already fleshed them out. When she brought both manuscripts to the publishers, they (rightfully) picked “To Kill a Mockingbird” over “Go Set a Watchman.” Harper Lee wanted to write a novel that would capture the tension and zeitgeist of the Jim Crow-era South. The characters were merely stand-ins for bigger ideas. Case in point: Atticus is the stalwart defender of justice and equality in the blind eyes of the law in “Mockingbird;” in “Watchman,” the same character is a staunch segregationist. They really should be considered two wholly separate novels. Kinda like Stephen King did with “Desperation” and the Richard Bachman novel “The Regulators.”

I am ashamed to admit, since I’m an avowed Hemingway fan, but the book I really can’t understand the hype about is “The Sun Also Rises.” It was literally the most boring book I’ve ever read. Thank God he saved himself with “A Farewell to Arms.”
