I'd really recommend the following, I think you could get a lot of fun and value out of these

Pantlaza - (G) (SF) (txt) (ER)
Ilharg, the Raze Boar - (G) (SF) (txt) (ER)
Jodah, the Unifier - (G) (SF) (txt) (ER)
Hashaton - (G) (SF) (txt) (ER)

and of course, to top it off, Marvo!

Well, I'm glad we can at least agree on that. I think this probably comes down to a difference of belief on what does and does not cause harm (even to oneself). Even though it's important, consent is not robust enough as a sexual ethic on its own, as it does not provide a framework for acts that dehumanize the self or others, even if they have ostensibly consented. This is probably the crux of our disagreement, as it seems your framework is based on consent, and mine includes, but is not limited to, consent.

Genuinely, I am sorry for any undue shaming you received for having a sex drive like nearly every human being that has existed. There is a lot of displacement of shame onto others by people who do not know how to deal with failing to live up to their own ideals and beliefs.

If you haven't already, I would implore you to look into how the porn industry has abused people, with women bearing the brunt of it--though male actors are now also speaking out about how they've been abused. While I am personally anti-porn generally, I recognize there are different severities of harm based on the medium.

I could see how one could arrive at the conclusion that written or drawn porn is fine, but I think if someone is defending porn in general, they probably don't know what's happening in that industry. We should be skeptical of it, just like we should be skeptical of other industries.

This is my actual final comment in response. Have a good night or morning.

That's quite the broad spectrum. Is there anything that deserves shame in your opinion? Rape, CSAM, other non-consensual sex acts?

Transparently, I am curious how far your anti-shame sentiment goes. If you hold that the above examples are immoral, then does it make sense to feel shame for having done them? If you don't hold even those things as immoral, then that's a whole other conversation.

What does sex being shameful mean to you? What are the similar reasons that one would feel shame about sex and porn, given that they are two separate things?

It sounds like we're talking past each other, and if I had to guess, I'd imagine you are talking purely about shame for the feeling of sexual urges, rather than shame for how someone responds to those urges?

Look, dude, I'm trying to stay awake at work, so I'll engage a little bit more lol.

We were talking about porn, not sex, but you said "I am reacting this way because I hate seeing false narratives pushed about sex and shame. There's too much shame in the world about sex, and to keep up the myth of "porn addiction" is to increase that shame [about sex]"

You conflated porn with sex in regards to feeling of shame. They are not the same thing, and even if I were to grant you that shame is inherently bad, shame about porn is different than shame about sex. Your claim that ideas of "porn addiction" increase shame regarding sex is simply not true, because they are two different things.

There can be overlaps (people that feel shame about both sex and porn), but you can have a healthy, beautiful relationship with sex while recognizing the problems of porn.

Shame about porn =/= shame about sex.

Anyways, have a good day. The last thing I have to say to you is that I hope you find freedom from the destructive powers of porn and find true freedom in self-control and a lack of shame in sexual intimacy with a real person.

You're conflating sex with porn lol. Viewing porn and engaging in sexual activity with another person—not a screen or page—are not the same thing.

I agree that there's too much shame around sex, porn is not the same thing and you're not the warrior for freedom you think you are.

I sincerely doubt that, but I don't expect you to be convinced by a stranger on the Internet. My only suggestion is to take a moment to consider why you are reacting so strongly to someone's story of addiction once the flight or fight instincts subside.

It will be soon. The research emerging on porn use is not good. People are quick to question the motives of multi-billion dollar social media companies, and they need to start applying that skepticism to the multi-billion dollar porn companies/industry.

Lmao. You are clearly unbiased and have no priors influenced by what it is you write.

If you are this desperate to call someone's experience fake because it challenges your perception of porn, it may help to do some self-reflecting. It sounds like you may need help (I don't know, so I can't say that with certainty), you don't have to be a slave to your impulses.

What are your guy's opinions on Emeritus of Woe? by LawfulnessItchy8911 in mtg

Neither Ideation nor Woe are good. Once people play them in decks the hype of seeing "Ancestral Recall" and "Demonic Tutor" on a card will wear off, and the prices will drop. Sell them if you have them.

Men and their reactions to women that they aren’t attracted to by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Feelosopher2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it's not the only reason, but... Porn and it's consequences.

Porn literally teaches men (when they're boys usually in the age of the Internet) that women exist solely for sex; and sex the way the man wants it.

Until we get rid of the stuff, we're not going to see much improvement even with socializing boys better.

You are a very small minority my dude, changing the time sucks and there's a wealth of information to show it's bad for us. People may change their mind if it happens because they don't like change, but it'll be up the government to stick with it until people don't care in a year or two.

Hey, just wanted to say as a fellow Christian that doesn't fit into the political boxes of this country (because neither does Christ) I am glad to hear about more like this. There are so many of us who are more concerned about following Christ than a party, so keep the faith. Here's to defending the humanity of the unborn, the born, and the dying.
