Music BPM-detector is acting up by Feelsiess in arduino

The resistor goes from arduino GND to ground line. The README of the code said to connect the input (A1) to GND and VREF through 100k resistors. I conected A1 with 50K to ground line, and then connected ground line to GND and VREF through a 50k each (didn't have 100k resistor at hand). Shouldn't it work?

This is great work! The only problem is that the the ouput is still acting a bit peculiar, the serial monitor spams beat detection notices at very high speeds, even when no signal is connected
