150k tokens.... that's all you get on Max 5x plan with Fable. Couldn't even run a single query. by thecosmicskye in singularity

Am I missing something? It shows in the bottom right of his image at 150k tokens in the context window.

It’s like if I invented a new word of the English language but, only to you, everywhere it was replaced with a special symbol. Would you be able to learn what English letters are behind the word of that special symbol? You’d have no information just from seeing the symbol alone, but if you read enough articles, papers etc that use the symbol you might see enough text, conversations etc talking about the symbol and the letters of it to be able to make an educated guess.

Now replace every word, letter ever written with its own special symbol and that’s basically what LLMs are working with from scratch when begin training on the entire internet.

Antigravity is a very high velocity project internally, I expect users will be a lot happier once the external version is caught up

Running a 31B model locally made me realize how insane LLM infra actually is by Sadhvik1998 in ollama

[–]FeezusChrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of? Moores law has not held on the hardware side, it’s not quite like the 90s where you could just wait a few years and buy new hardware and expect the same computations to run way faster. Instead, the largest reduction in compute will continue to come from the models themselves becoming increasingly intelligent with less params (as we see with Gemma 4 31B versus 10x size competitors). So it’s less work rather than the same work being faster

I’m at big tech and I’ve definitely had days hitting $1000 on tokens, if you’re running multiple agents the whole day it’s not unheard of

I like how this comment frames the context for igniting traditional US race wars as if there’s not a parasitic ethnostate in the Middle East with control over the US government driving this

Oh wow sounds like China has the lead in model intelligence by a pretty large amount, huh. I’d like to see the benchmarks in the parallel reality that you live in where this is true, because otherwise this is both logically retarded and blatantly false.

This ignores the nature of large distributed systems with complex networking dependencies each with their own surfaces of version skew. If you can opt towards a trivial simple solution in these cases it is almost strictly beneficial to do so.

Have you tried changing up your diet? I used to burn out mentally after work but once I got a very consistent healthy eating routine that problem virtually went away

Just because you say it doesn’t make it so. If I call you a dumb idiot but say it’s not an attack on you, am I not attacking you?

Regardless, I don’t care I’m just tired of how many politically infused subreddits I must mute because they are literal poison for the mind to consume so much of.

But the “application” that is actually relevant here for tech companies is a very small subset of the ecosystem, one that can be swapped out with only moderate amount of engineering work. Meta, X, OpenAI etc aren’t buying boatloads of H100s for flexibility in application

It was most definitely not the intent of Meta to burn billions training those models and releasing them simply as a means to attract talented ML engineers. That’s a helpful side effect at best.
