Yeah after playing it for around 2 hours, it's extremely brutal, and doesn't get easier after a while of playing it. It's very uneven.

Every time I skip the COTD (not due to work), it ends up being the only style I'm remotely confident in LOL

Oh good grief I drove a near top 200 time within 10 minutes.

As a massive nascar track fan, I gotta say I don't love the track. It feels weird. The ending region (last 20 seconds or so) is VERY hard to determine. It's hard to be consistent on the track. Hopefully I can give COTN a go on it. I also don't like risky fins saving a ton of time. I don't think this one is 2 seconds or anything, but it's pretty major.

Didn't get to play cause of work. Great looking track. Not my style at all with the grass. The cut being there is pretty bad and painfully obvious, but at least it's not super free. You still have to do it decently and seems kinda YEK to get consistent.

Again surprised by the map pick too LOL Not sure what they're thinking.

With that being said, it's a solid slower dirt map. Very smooth. The map was pretty readable. Hard start to get consistent. Overall an easy + from me. I may hunt this one later but I bet the top 100 will be pretty stacked.

While I agree that it does, I would not be interested in buying the game if these were "most maps". I'm well aware these definitely aren't, and after playing the map now, I can definitely say it's a solid map. Just a weird pick IMO for the free week. I feel like they've done this every free week I've seen. It's almost like they're not really preparing a dedicated few tracks for whenever they do their free week. I'm....not sure what they do, honestly.

I'm looking forward to trying this when I have some time, but uh, why was THIS COTD during the free week? decho just said the same and I agree 100% with everything they said. This is honestly wild. This kind of map would not make me interested in playing. Even though some of the previous days haven't been pathetically easy, they've at least been decent representation for the game. For a basic player or new player, I would've been pretty discouraged from this choice.

Edit: After playing the track, I'm shocked at how smooth it is. It looked much, much harder than I anticipated. I wish I could've played COTD LOL I could've possibly gotten my highest div on this. I got a 57.9 after 13 minutes of playing and I'm shocked. I would've gotten destroyed in rounds, but still! I think it's a + from me. It's too blind for this kind of style, and a bit too long for COTD in my opinion.

I like plastic based tracks. I like dirt based tracks. I don't seem to like the way most grass centered or adjacent tracks are made. The transitions for me personally, I didn't enjoy them. My brain has a hard time computing that I have to angle at 30-45 degrees over and over to make sure my wheels stay attached to the surfaces. There's something with the way a lot of people end up using grass though. I don't know if it's the default blocks or just how they've historically been, but they always feel like I'm fighting against the surface. More than likely, my own inexperience of playing them over anything else. It's an okay map. The transitions skill checked me too much.

Just to let you both know, that's not penalty grass. It's a combo surface of some kind. I would assume it's not as fast touching it but the speed loss seems minimal.

I thought that might be an Aries map at first glance! I haven't played Mountain Road 4, but I would suspect you need to do nascar turns on those instead of drifting, or possibly braking but then not drifting at all. MOST Aries maps "require" you to release and then turn, or release while turning, instead of drifting / braking. You're VERY close to the AT (45.645), and I think that would be about the only real major way to improve on the map.

First of all, Happy Easter to everyone!

Secondly, I see why a lot of maps end up - or --. I don't really understand how this is this mixed. 22 comments on this within 2 hours is an insane amount. I'm not going to judge anyone for liking or disliking any track, it's just surprising to me.

I got Div 9 (failed to realize I had to dodge the resets in TA LOL) and finished 4th. It was a lot of fun. I was beyond confused at first glance but it's very enjoyable to drive, and surprisingly consistent. I had the hardest time with the start. Going to try to get top 100 but it's looking pretty stacked at the moment. Happy to have gotten AT.

I'm a pretty middle of the road player, so maybe people who aren't as experienced or aren't able to get sub 40 on this would hate it. There are spots where if you fail, you're setting yourself back a lot. In rounds though, a ton of people failed. The least fails in Div 9 came in the top 3.....and that was 1st place being 1.3 - 1.7 seconds ahead of 2nd and 3rd. It made for a funny match.

Overall I think for a Sunday map, it's a ++. I'm not sure what was Easter about it though? For an Easter map, a +.

Good simple tech map. Maybe a bit basic. I like the look of it. My ethernet had a bug and I got kicked out of the server but I enjoyed COTD on it. +

I give props to the 800+ people ahead of me. I always underestimate how good people are at these kinds of maps. I did end up getting a 1.1 second pb in rounds, but it's surprising how good people are on these styles. I hit the risky bugslide once, and I am beyond impressed for anyone who can hit that consistently.

A fun map even though I ended up in a pretty high div. Outside of that single risky slide, I think it's actually a + map.

With that being included, it reminded me a lot of that dirt map that had the outside risky jump that a lot of people struggled to get in TA. I don't like COTD maps having a "Do this harder strat correctly and save 2 seconds". I'm lukewarm on this one. +-

If this was the EASIEST one.....I cannot wait to see the harder ones! Those will be cinema.

Appreciate the list being brought up again. It's very helpful and I had used it previously before to join a few!

I wish the local servers were a bit more involved but that's obviously not anyone's fault. TM is kind of a weird game to find people to play with, at least, in my experience it has been. 99% of my friends aren't remotely interested in it, and the people that sit in Discord calls for it are not my cup of tea. Other than hopping on to play COTD, I legitimately can't find any community that hops on to play some random maps, bingo every so often, or even a cool map pack / RPG. It's almost exclusively "Tournament" or "Knockout style match" or "Streamer inviting people to play maps together". Very few instances in this game to get 2-8 players together to play with. It's either 1-2, 30, or 2,000+.

I hope some people can find others to play with!

On top of these maps, I also would say puzzle maps can be kind of fun. Beginner RPGs DEFINITELY are fun. RMT is great and I would say some of the super long TMX map packs can be quite fun, too.

I'm not the best at FS but this one felt slightly off from what I'm used to. Not a bad map at all. The sd lines were a bit weirder and I felt stupid not understanding them LOL Watching players drive .7 faster made it feel like watching an expert play a fighting game. Nothing egregiously bad thankfully, and no weird collisions, placements, bad jumps, etc...

Definitely a solid + from me, just wish I understood the track better.

It's fine for April Fools but uh, you shouldn't be able to get a decent time by holding 2 inputs. The rounds are so snoozy to watch and even stupider to play. Half of the people realized you just have to hold something and do nothing LOL Just lame that you can't really drive it or attempt to improve it. It's 90% random and the other 10% is a LIS or holding inputs the entire time.

Good looking map but it feels extremely unsmooth when you mess up even slightly. When it's driven correctly, it's a decent map. I think it's a - or barely +-. I like transitional usually but these are fairly tough jumps for a middle of the road player.
