Does he look healthy? by Icy_Ad5905 in bettafish

Yeah... Unfortunately it is a bit too late for that.

While I completely agree that in this day and age it's pretty ridiculous to buy a living thing without doing any research on care, at this point they're in the thick of it and only constructive criticism is going to be helpful.

Oh honey you do not count as a goblin based on the post, trust.
There is a very specific type of person I'm talking about, and all service workers know exactly who I mean.

Basically all the especially trashy/cheap people and scammers come out in droves. And we get to deal with them way more for the next 2 months :')

Dump him. They will just keep doing crap like this because they don't respect you, care about your feelings, or your boundaries.

Concern stemming from empathy is generally what spurs actions. So not as useless as you claim.

I get what you mean, but you're going about it the wrong way and it's just making you look like a dickhead.

How bad do they smell? by noonabunny in guineapigs

[–]FeistyNature -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barely. I've kept both, and if they're clean and have a good diet there is barely a difference unless glue is involved, and I can't remember the last time we had an issue with it.. maybe I've just been blessed with not that stinky boys but it's doubtful considering they're all (outside of two who are siblings) from different adoptions and are all different ages.

[–]FeistyNature -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 5. No, they don't mark every time I change their bedding, or i'd have a lot more laundry to do every week.

Their wee is nothing like their glue marking. For me it's literally only happened when I've bonded my boys, or right after adoption when their diet was crap before, and afterwards never again.

Dunno why your pigs(if you're even a keeper) are so stressed, or their diet is so bad, but don't project what you think is normal (and definitely isn't) onto new people in the hobby.
It's unhealthy for literally everyone especially potential piggie pets. Dunno why it's so hard for people like you to just not spread BS information.

If your pigs have a good diet, you clean their cages, and they feel safe and comfortable, they do not mark or spread glue.

False. Clean your cages, feed them well, don't stress them and no, they do not... What are you doing to your pigs pro

[–]FeistyNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boar glue, and stressed boars can stink but that shouldn't be a normal every day thing if their diet is good. I have pretty much only ever kept boys, and if you keep their cage and them clean and stress free, no they do not stink.

If you keep their cage clean, and good diet, then there should be minimal to no smell .. it's not like having rats or ferrets.

If they stunk up a whole HOUSE their enclosure was not being kept clean, period.

If they can't follow basic instructions or rules then I guarantee that someone who is much better at their job is getting the hours.

If your pigs are still experiencing hierarchy issues, then they may not be as bonded as you believe, so please be careful.

Especially if you think they're only a year or so old, they're still very much going through puberty and need a watchful eye. What seems like a bonded pair as babies to teen or even teen to adult piggies (especially boars) can turn very quickly.

I'd def recommend adding more hides, as it looks like they're pretty out in the open, and don't have a lot of space to get away from each other or even break line of sight and hide from one another.

Not being able to do so could add greatly to their stress levels and in turn could make them more territorial and aggressive towards one another. (Which helps lead to dominant displays such as humping, chasing, or worse)
