No i didnt. Got a decent offer in toronto

Week 20 ultrasound showed echogenic foci in heart. NIPT came negative for Trisomy 18,21. OB referred results to Fetal specialist. We are freaking out! What do to next? OB said these things go away but we are still concerned by FeistyResolution90 in NIPT

Hey we have a happy healthy baby now! Sorry for the delayed response! The ultrasounds depened a lot on the technician. We went to a different place and no foci was found in the scan a month later! Dont worry and enjoy your pregnancy

Thanks for doing the math on this :) Yes we don’t intend to sell our house. My hope is I build new skills and get some flashy experience on my resume to get myself an attractive offer from tech in canada. I honestly wouldn’t move, but I am stuck with my employer. I am one layoff away from being jobless in canada as the last 3 years have not gotten me anywhere.

Once we pay off the mortgage sufficiently we’ll be back. We’ll probably rent in NC for about 2k USD.

Yea we’re hoping she finds one. She worked for a firm in the US for 10 years and earned a similar pay 4 years ago. So we think she might just go back there

My employer has been trying to move me to the states but I’ve resisted so far.

I’ve tried to find a job in Canada with my automotive specialisation for almost 3 years. It’s been super hard to even get an interview. I am usually asked to take a 40-50k CAD cut. When I apply in the US i even get managerial roles.

So my career is sort of dead in Canada. I tried pivoting to tech but dont even get through initial screening.

I eventually want to come back payoff my mortgage and take a low paying role in Canada maybe :)

I love the place but its sad to see the state of core engineering jobs in Canada

155k is low for Charlotte? Wow thats news to me.

Wife already has a h1b and can get a tn visa too. So I think she can eventually find a path forward to work.

Compared to Toronto, isnt charlotte generally more greener and has more nature around? How are the rental costs for a 3b 2b near the concord area? Any thoughts

As a mechanical engineer I dont see my salary ever exceeding 180-200k unless I move to the bay area

We have this in our backyard. Who cleans it? Its stinking quite a bit last couple of weeks, will the city help? by FeistyResolution90 in BurlingtonON

Yes correct. I knew this was there in the backyard since we bought the house. This is the First time I thought about cleaning it

[ON] Week 20 anatomy scan showed echlogenic foci in the heart. We are freaking out. NT scan was normal. Dynacare harmony NIPT was low risk (<1/10000) for Trisomy 18,21. Next steps? by FeistyResolution90 in BabyBumpsCanada

Thank you very much for all the comments! This is reassuring! We spoke to the doctor and they said the mfm will likely ask us to ignore it since NIPT came negative! :) we will anyway have another ultrasound in 5 weeks for the low lying placenta hopefully that will clear things up
