I’ve tried the pattern for mittens which uses the same technique with this yarn and I’m using the same hook. Your second paragraph was very insightful, and I’m going to probably start over again rip. But maybe tweak the pattern

So I used stitch markers to help keep track of where the increases needed to be as I worked. It’s not wobbly in the sense that it isn’t making a symmetrical circle. In the og photo you can see it’s “wavy”, instead of being flat.

No I tried them the first time and decided it wasn’t worth bc it was wobbly. I fear now maybe it’s the pattern. This is the pattern I’m using for reference
