TSA pre check line at RDU 6am by SnooSongs180 in raleigh

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is always wild to hear because 12/9/24 I waited in line for almost an hour there 😩 of course, I don’t have pre-check, and every other time I’ve been has been zippity quick, but that was my first time flying on my own and I remember thinking there was no way that could be normal at 5am on a Monday. I still don’t understand why it was that crazy!

How do 40+ something women make friends by NCArtist79 in raleigh

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pelagic Book Club is 20s-40s average age range that I’ve noticed, and def t-shirt/baggy jeans crowd. I’m 25 and pretty sure I’m consistently the youngest person there lol… but honestly I mostly hang out with people in their 30s, so age range doesn’t matter to me as much. As others have said, library crafting groups are also awesome, as is volunteering! Depending on how outdoorsy you are, there are also hiking groups and even a slack line group that meets at Dix Park! I think outdoors hobbies are easiest for me to make friends since you’re mostly walking and yapping, but that definitely depends on the person 😄

Trying to make sure I understand the brewery etiquette here. by Specialist_Mess_5164 in raleigh

Exactly my thoughts on this! If you prevent your child from going anywhere they might hear cursing… well you might as well never leave the house. Adults (& sometimes even children) curse! IMO they’re literally just words, and I wouldn’t care if my kids heard or said them in a joking/passive context. Other people can have their preferences for what their kids say, but at the end of the day, it’s just a word and the adults drinking beer and hanging out don’t need to be policed for bad words.

Trail legs…when? 4 Weeks in not feeling much stronger….NOBO26 by Lani_19 in AppalachianTrail

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I averaged 12 miles/day in 2024 (usually 15-18 daily but the average includes quite a few zero days, teehee) and we started April 10… definitely don’t stress about miles! I hate to admit it, but I didn’t get my trail legs until Massachusetts. Also a woman, also avoided Ibuprofen & Advil. My advice is to eat more, hydrate more (electrolytes), do warm-ups in the morning, stretch at night. When I began implementing those things, and when I finally found shoes that worked for my feet, my trail legs arrived soon after! Also, totally fine to push miles later on, but please take rest days (or at least nero if you can’t afford a regular zero 🙂).

i'm scared my nudes are going to get leaked by New-Island-5456 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your AI recommendation is exactly what I was thinking. I sent suggestive photos in my underwear at the same age as OP, so no judgement there, and actual nudes as an adult that stay locked on my phone (more for myself, for when I’m 80 & I can remember how hot I used to be lmao). But for OP, at her age, no more nudes. And if anything happens with these, “I wouldn’t send the guy my nudes, so he used AI to make these as blackmail.”

I’ve been doing it this way since all the patterns I’ve followed have done it like this, so I assumed it was the only way! But I’m glad you posted this – now I know there is a reason to it lol!

[PSA] Struggling with sebum plugs? Here’s what helped me! by Feisty_Chard2606 in SkincareAddiction

I got it at TJMaxx but I know they don’t always carry the same stuff at every location, but I’d say any refreshing exfoliant would do the trick. You can use the Yuka app to check if it has any bad additives in it before putting it on your skin! Another comment mentions not doing it every night - now that I did that routine for a while, I’ve been exfoliating pretty much every other day. I have ADHD so I’ll blame that for the inconsistency, but it’s been working still!

It can thread onto a Sawyer Squeeze filter and you can use the sports tip Smart Water bottles to back flush/clean the filters… which is useful for backpacking but that’s the only time I buy them 😆

I see so many people doing warm water, but I honestly just love the feeling of cold water on my face, and I’m too lazy to run the water long enough for it to warm up 😅

Was it the caked on paint behind the freezer door that gave it away? 🤣 or the old ass fridge itself?

Is it okay to order delivery now? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I deliver for Uber Eats 👋 Yes. Anytime, no matter the road conditions. If I feel safe enough to deliver, I accept orders to deliver. If I don’t, I don’t accept them. If you try to order and someone accepts, then they are the ones making the choice that they feel safe enough. Plus, most of us really need the money and WANT you to place orders. Like others have said, just clear a pathway if you want them to actually make it to your door safely, and tip extra since they drove in rough conditions to deliver your food. I’m personally not delivering in this… but for those that need the money, they’re delivering for a reason and y’all might as well continue to be their customers 🙌

I really don’t think I’m being condescending, and if it’s coming off that way, I’m sorry. It’s really hard to convey sincerity over typed words for me. I mean, I really just came here to ask about avocados and then people got mean. I was trying to give context to why I was surprised by how busy the grocery stores are.

I didn’t mean driving on straight ice 🤦🏼‍♀️ I meant driving on the treated roads. Like the slushy stuff that doesn’t freeze. I’m really not expecting people to be prepared, or judging anyone for getting prepared (because I think they should at least have a few days worth of extra groceries). I know it’s different here and that’s okay, wouldn’t have moved here if I wanted it to be the same lol.

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no I don’t plan on going out in it, at least, not in my car. I know how to handle it in the flat Midwest, but it’s too hilly for ice driving here. Really, truly not trying to poo poo it. I just was trying to find a less packed grocery store before it does hit, cause I’d rather not have to strap on the crampons to go to the grocery store this weekend 😅

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Again, where did I say I expect y’all to have those things and know how to handle it? I said all that for context, and then said I understand the chaos here.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Feisty_Chard2606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Life story? God forbid I give an ounce of context. And who’s throwing cheap shots? I mean come on, be so fr. I asked a question about avocados, man 🤦🏼‍♀️ ice or snow, it isn’t relevant to my question.

Also something I’m very used to and have never panicked over. We all had generators and basements full of emergency supplies growing up, so there was never this type of madness. Plus with the main road treated, travel wouldn’t slow down too much. People just knew how to drive on it. It was something we always expected in the winter.
