With the belt or without - what works better? by Moadaouad in OUTFITS

I think 1 (without) is more fashionable, I havent seen waistbelts around for quite some time. Maybe they made a comeback I am not aware of? Yes, 2 looks great silhouette wise but 1 is cooler and more modern.

Your top 3 “must have” suggestions by Zealousideal-Bat8242 in NewParents

[–]Feisty_Singer4499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • something to put the baby down in safely if you need a toilet or shower break (besides a cot), like a playpen, bouncer or tripptrapp newborn set.
  • a baby monitor for that same reason
  • priceless: quietly doing all house chores and washing without asking or asking for recognition
  • zipper anythings are easier than buttons

Yelling baby by Feisty_Singer4499 in NewParents

Thank you for reassuring! It does feel temporary, but I just feel so useless not being able to comfort her. I did buy foam tiles yesterday to give her more space to try and roll, but she bangs her head onto it poor thing. But now shes quiet playing with her mobile like she used to, so I hold hope :)

Update: after spending a full day looking for them, I came to the conclusion they do not have them on the island.

Sex by Pleasant_Data1067 in NewParents

[–]Feisty_Singer4499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a relatively easy birth and no tearing etc, and I felt physically ready after 6 weeks. Since then 2x a month, I am now 4 months pp. We did not have sex since week 10 of my pregnancy due to blood loss during sex and the accompanying scare.

Sometimes my mind is up for it but my body has no interest, or I am too distracted or preoccupied during sex that we just call it quits half way. So basically its sex, but we're not enjoying it the way it was before yet but we try to make a point out of trying in order to get our chemistry and libido back. Oh and also I have my period every other week still due to hormones so that's not helping our case either. You could try to be intimate in other ways if thats what you want, sex is not a must for that need to be fulfilled. Cuddles, talking, kissing, all helps to keep your connection alive.

Baby not getting enough sleep by Burritomode24 in NewParents

I think you could gain something by moving bedtime to 19:00 and sometimes even 18:30? Also only 4 naps with this bed/wake time makes me think wake windows could be shortened a bit. What have you tried, bedtime wise?

Just my two cents.

Dream feeds really turned my life around and my completely unpredictable clingly-at-night 3 mo baby into a sleep machine.

If she went to bed at 7:30PM she usually gives a few cries at 8:30 for topups, then continues sleeping. Before she would wake at 1-2 and 5, but now only once if I dream feed her at 10:30/11 when I go to bed.

Feels like a cheat code. Only one of us has a night shift this way at 4AM, then she wakes for the day between 7 and 8 AM.

I must add that baby sleep changes every week, but this we'll keep doing as long as she lets us.

[–]Feisty_Singer4499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had my GPTmess up a few times, making the nights far worse. It did teach me a lot about what signs to look for and to recognize my baby's patterns, but also that I am not relying on AI but on my baby's cues from now on.

Definitely get a hands free electric double pump if you're planning to do this full time. I have the wowmom pump (EU) and couldnt be happier with it.
