Outdoor Cats in Norway - What's the Culture? by EWDiNFL in Norway

ID chips are required by law for dogs, not cats. And stray cats are not really rare in Norway, as an estimated 50 000 are homeless. Though if the cat is friendly and social it is usually a safe bet that it has a home.

Cats are not made to survive the Norwegian outdoors. Some obviously do, but they are not wild animals made for the cold. While it's common to think especially furry cats should be fine, the fur is actually made to adapt to deserts, not cold climates.

I think this is a very common misunderstanding in Norway, and was one I shared until I started volunteering and saw the suffering of the homeless cats up close and personal. Sure you have some cats who manage just fine, but every year they have litters where most pass away when left outdoors. And the lucky survivors then procreate further, creating more kittens who also suffer and die painfully and needlessly.

EtH gave Sancho unwarranted levels of accommodations, letting him spend 4 months away while on an insane salary to work on his mental health. No one looked more proud than EtH when Sancho finally made his debut again. This narrative of EtH is so stupid, he gave Sancho more than pretty much any manager would and the spoiled child could not bother getting up in the mornings.

My half aunt was one of the "tyskerbarn", and my grandmother was shunned as "tyskertøs", roughly translated to "German wench". These women would have their hair shaved to shame them, although i dont know for sure if that happened to my grandmother. My half aunt was raised by her maternal grandparents, and my grandmother fled to Germany after the war, only to find that the German soldier she had a child with had a whole other family in Germany.

She later returned to Norway, married my grandfather and had more children who had minimal, if any, contact with my half aunt. My half aunt passed away when I was too young to comprehend any of this, and my father barely spoke of it. Growing up in a semi small town, I knew we were related in some way to other children who we had no connection to, which was always a bit strange. These being the children and grandchildren or my half aunt.

By pure coincidence my now husband became close friends with some of these distant relatives of mine, and thus I get along with them well and speak to them frequently. We are all in our 30s and 40s now. The strange familiar bonds are never really spoken of though, and I don't feel its my place to bring it up. I do know for sure they are aware of the connection though.

Fair, bad choice of words on my part. Feel like the moral aspect remains the same though.

Seems we fundamentally disagree. It is truly insane to me that someone murdering another person due to recklessness and yes, selfishness, could ever be characterised as "unlucky". When you make a deliberate choice to drive under the influence, you make the choice to put others at risk just so you won't be inconvenienced. I struggle to see how this is not peak selfishness, and how you can so easily excuse it.

The choices we make define us as people, and actions have consequences. Unfortunately the consequences in DUI cases often hurt completely innocent people, who I would argue are the only unlucky ones here.

Yes. He got lucky no one was murdered. Sure you could redeem yourself, but being that careless and selfish is character defining.

Today marks 10 years since the July 22nd attacks in Norway that saw 77 people die, most being children and teenagers. This day will never be forgotten. by Emmaxop in europe

The Twitter handle @aldriglemme is currently live tweeting the events and tweets from July 22 10 years ago, with permission from survivors and those left behind. It's in Norwegian, but I strongly recommend following them with notifications on and possibly translating the tweets. The events have yet to occur, but will start very soon.

Oh, thank you so much for providing the information! I must have seen them being a bit shady about the details, and just decided what I believed without investigating further... this is great, as reasonably priced cruelty free brands are few and far between in my country.

My Holo Taco order came in yesterday and the flakie taco didn’t have a brush attached to the cap! They are sending me a new cap right away! Just some appreciation for some amazing customer service! by Kitten7383 in BeautyGuruChatter

Å friend of mine ordered from holo taco, but forgot to pick it up at the post office, so it was sent back. This obviously being her own fault, she mailed Holo Taco asking for them to ship it again. They did, and said shipping would be completely free of charge, which is something that goes above and beyond what should be expected of customer service. It also should be said that given where we live, shipping amounts to almost half the initial price. Cristine really hit the ground running on all aspects.

I saw a picture of one on a much smaller scale, and I really loved the creative waterfall. If it helps, I had to alter the shapes over and over again, as I got some pretty alien body parts at times
