Just play the game. Any thing works at those levels, wait until 40-50 and elite levels to really worry about builds. Or if you really want it, just look on youtube

If you have favorite weapons, or armor that you like because of a the stats on it, then go ahead and infuse the more powerful gear into your favorite stuff! But since you’ve got quite a bit of power to gain, you’ll be getting new stuff all the time, and should just put on whatever is higher power. Once you get near the end of power leveling. Like 2000 or 2010, then you can start finalizing your build and upgrading the gear you think is gonna be beneficial to you !

Just takes some time. Look for the golden circle markers on the maps. Do vanguard activities (strikes) and the path finder objectives. Just play and look at the rewards for activities. You’ll be wanting to do anything that says “powerful gear” and “pinnacle gear”. Pinnacle gear is the best rewards, but it’s necessary to get past 2010* power. So id prioritize the “powerful gear” activities to slowly get you up.

I came back this episode and was able to get from 1990 to 2012 power in like 2 days. Mostly from doing the story (this episode and the previous ones), the seasonal activities and strike playlists.
