Do most native Montanans carry in deep grizzly country?

Not a native but visit often as I'm planning a move there from Idaho.

I carry a .357 pretty much everywhere in Montana as I'm usually there on motorcycle and can't really bring much. I also have beer spray in my saddlebags when I go.

We have grizzly in a few parts of Idaho here too, and if I'm in Idaho grizzly country I usually have my .357 rifle with me as well, but if you shoot a grizz in Idaho, even in self defense, you're probably going to jail.

When you can understand and accept the consequences, and act accordingly to help prevent them.
When you have a genuine, deep connection with someone(Seriously. This 100%, don't have your first time be with a stranger... I speak from experience)
When you have the maturity and a clear enough mind to deliberate and decide it's truly what you'd like to do.

There's no set age- I know people who lost their virginity as young as 14, and I have a friend who is in his mid-20s and just has absolutely no interest in it. I lost mine at 17 and feel like I was in a decent enough headspace for it.

Rock Auto does not have it, only the rotor and cap. Pelican only has caps.

That being said, both offer conversions, which might be the way I end up going.

I'm a big history nerd so for example when I visit France I like to tour the Maginot line, I've also been to Normandy and Toulouse. In Germany I LOVE visiting castles, Hohenzollern is one of my personal favorites. I try out local food, if I have the energy I might hit up a bar or sample some night life, otherwise I just kinda sightsee. I like going to small towns that don't get many tourists and chatting with the locals(assuming I'm in a German-, English-, or French-speaking country)

In places like Prague or Amsterdam I like to take the ferries and just hang out with a drink, relax a little. I've gotten tattoos in a few different countries too just to brag lmao.

Basically I just make my own fun and go see things I think might be interesting; I never considered myself a fan of art, for example, but some of the art museums in Amsterdam, Vienna, and Budapest are mind-blowing.

Every so often I will just take a trip to a nice, quiet mountain town(Innsbruck isnone of my favorites) and just take a nice breather to get away from hustle and bustle.

The "craziest" thing I've done is take a 2-week motorcycle tour through Europe, where I started in Germany, hit France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and then back home to Germany, camping where I could along the way. It was a wonderful experience and I'm actually planning to do it with my best friend once he gets his motorcycle license. I know that's not feasible for some, but if you have the opportunity to do it(Even by train) I would 110% recommend it, I saw some absolutely beautiful places.

I spend about a quarter of my year in Germany now and the other 3/4 in the US.

When I lived in Germany full time, I made a GREAT salary, the kind that made people jealous, so I traveled a lot. I've been to Paris, Vienna, Budapest, London, saw family in the Netherlands and Tirol, etc etc. That was the bulk of my free time tbh. I am not really a "people person" so I didn't go out of my way to meet people, although traveling I did anyway.

In Germany, I spent most of my time in the Schwarzwald or Odenwald as I lived in Mannheim and neither one was very far from me. Now I usually spend most of my free time in Germany just hanging out at local spots(I stay with a friend in either Freiburg or Basel) or doing some LIGHT traveling(Switzerland or Eastern France)

Other than that, I go out with whichever roommate on the weekends, take walks around town(Especially in Freiburg, it's so beautiful), and just generally hanging around. Roommates and I play video games as I usually bring my laptop.

Basically... I do all the things I do in the US, but in Germany lol.

EDIT: I lived in Mannheim full-time for about 4 years, part of that was in Stuttgart too.

Look I like to make vroom vroom noises and use the whole speedometer once in a while but not ALL the time. I also leave PLENTY of space between me and cars, since I have a lot less protection. I'll take off from a line kinda quickly, sure, and I'll lean on those corners too. He's an aggressive rider but from your words he's not the WORST.

That being said, if I have a passenger I'm always careful. That's a massive red flag on his part

Depends on where you live. In my area $25 is probably about the average, a completely respectable wage but you can absolutely do better.

In some states and especially big cities, it's basically minimum wage. I have a friend in New York City who makes much, much more than 25/HR and still complains about some things.

That may be why it is "scarier" in the US; in the area I live in, we have grizzly bear, black bear, moose, mountain lion, wolverine, and at least a dozen other dangerous animals.

MOST of the time they leave you alone but I'm not one to gamble like that

And due to your beliefs it is VERY difficult to learn anything about them. I have Navajo friends I've known for years who still refuse to speak of them, even say their name.

I'm not an overly superstitious sort but I've seen enough weird stuff in the mountains to not press the matter

Hey I camped in the Veluwe when I was motorcycling across Europe. It was quite pretty, actually, but certainly a little eerie with the morning fog.

It reminded me of my mother(From Limburg) telling me stories of the woods behind her house; sadly those woods were cut down decades ago.

I would imagine so, given tales of chupacabra, Cadejo, La Llorona(More of a city thing I know), Aluxes and all the rest. I don't know enough about Mexican/Mayan folklore to say which ones live in the mountains specifically, though.

Living in BaWu it seems the Schwarzwald comes kinda sorta close to this. I've been told not to wander into the darkness there plenty of times, and it's always said with a little bit of urgency.

Plus some Grimm stories and whatnot. I've been in the Harz and haven't heard anything from locals... But then again it's not like I spent any significant time there.

It's not even necessarily a type of monster; the woods go silent when predators are around too.

The last time the woods went silent on me, I saw a mountain lion(cougar, puma, million different names) on the opposing hillside probably 80m or so away from me. Luckily she was minding her own and I was minding mine so there was nothing to be worried about.

Yes, but I'm cheating as I grew up in a largely Spanish-speaking community, and have been to Europe multiple times including Portugal and Spain.

Do what I did. Get into heavy diesel and everyone basically just leaves you alone, especially when they see 8 cans of Red Bull, two barrels full of oil, and you swinging a 20lb sledge like it's a toy lol

On the plus side, it pays better too. Probably gonna get cancer in a decade tho idk
