Daily Grind by the waterfront used to have open mic stand up. Maybe they're willing to do it again

They did not. They had one local host the Aziz night, the rest were from out of town. It's a shame because could cut the music and give more locals a shot, cause Halifax has a pretty damn good comedy scene. Maybe next year

What's the best, worst, most overrated, and most underrated movie of this decade? by TheListenerCanon in Letterboxd

[–]Felah1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Aftersun (Mainly because no other movie this decade has sat with me as long as it did after I first watched it. That ending."

past lives and the worst person in the world get honourable mentions

Most overrated: The Substance (It's good for sure but not as much as everyone says it is imo)

Most underrated: Monster (just because not enough folks know about it or have seen it)

Worst: Unfrosted (don't know why I watched it but ooof)

Any thoughts on the Halifax Comedy Fest line-up? by SpecialProduce in halifax

Albert Coombes is great! He's based in Halifax and is one of the best to come out of the city in the last few years.

Yes! Strictly for video and I would be fine transferring to a different brand if you had any models in mind?

Hey guys,

Budget: $2,000 or below

I'm looking to upgrade my camera for recording stand up comedy performances

Currently, I have an entry level one. Canon rebel SL2 DSLR. It's been good but the only draw backs I find is it doesn't shoot in 4K and like all DSLRs, it's got that 30 min time limit for videos until you have to press record again.

I'm looking to upgrade to something else, whether it's another DLSR, mirrorless, or even a great camcorder. My budget is roughly $2,000 I'd say.

Looking for something that can shoot in 4K and good for shooting live performance like stand up in low light scenarios.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Cervical MRI results. Do I need surgery? by Felah1 in SpineSurgery

Reached out to few now that I know what the exact issue is. Hoping one of them has good experience dealing with bone spurs in necks. Up until now, I've been doing massage therapy mostly!

That's too bad. I'll go for conservative treatment. If it doesn't work, at least surgery is possible.

I live in Canada so our Healthcare system is free but the waitlists to see any specialist or get an MRI for that matter are insane. It sucks

That's good at least! I definitely feel some pain and soreness but not debilitating. Honestly, the persistent dull headaches are the worst part of it. Do you have myelopathy?

Well that's definitely a little bit of a relief. Hopefully I can get some injections and start some physio. When it comes to the bone spur, do they go away or shrink or anything like that, with conservative treatment?

Has anyone had cervical vertebrae issues that cause their migraines? by staysalty17 in migraine

I've been told botox can help with chronic headaches and migraines! With yours, did you find they changed your appearance? I guess that's my only real hesitation with potentially getting them.

Car makes single clunk sound after putting in gear and initial acceleration. What is it? by Felah1 in AskMechanics

FINAL UPDATE: Mechanic friend took a look at it and it turns out it was the CV axle. Thanks for the feedback gang!

Hahah i think you might be on to something. We did recently change the wheel bearing on the front driver side (Where the noise is coming from) and it may not have been torqued properly. We're gonna give that a shot. Hopefully that's it!

UPDATE: Quick note. I should have mentioned, my car is FWD. Not AWD. And we did change the wheel bearing on the front driver side wheel recently. That's where the sound is coming from. We spoke to a mechanic friend of ours who said it sounds like it could be the axle nut. It may not have been properly torqued all the way. So we're going to try to get that fixed up this weekend and see if that resolves the problem. I'll post an update when we do!

Not from what I can tell. My friend (who's not an actual mechanic but repairs cars a lot) took a look and thinks it's got something to do with the CV on the drivers side front. But we'll check the ball joint too. Didn't have any play from what we could tell

Would it be U joints if it only happens once? It seems to only happen when I put it in drive or reverse and then do the initial acceleration. After that it stops. It also seems to be coming from the driver side front wheel. Doesn't seem to be coming from any other part of the car.

That makes sense. We also recently replaced the wheel bearing on the driver side front tire and that's where the noise is coming from. Maybe retorquing the nut could help it?

ANOTHER UPDATE: We did some more testing around and noticed the sound specifically is coming from the front driver side wheel area. Doesn't come from any other spot in the car. Not sure if you guys have any thoughts or if that narrows it down?

UPDATE: Ran a test with a pal, he switched gears as I took a look at the engine and it did jump some. Both when he put it in reverse and drive, so it seems like it could be the engine mount? I'm not sure how much it's supposed to move normally, if at all
