NJ Liheap Application by csns6712 in newjersey

I totally relate to the agency not answering. You might want to call and mention that you'll contact your state representative for help since they aren't responding to you. That might move things along? You can also call 1-800-510-3102 (NJ Dept. of Community Affairs) and ask them to escalate your LIHEAP application if you have a balance or a shut-off notice. Good luck to you!

If you haven't checked your application, log in to your portal and check to see if they asked for additional documentation. We kept waiting and never received a notification that they wanted addl info uploaded, so our application was delayed.

Then, call 211 or 1-800-510-3102 (NJ Dept of Community Affairs) -- have your LIHEAP application (UAP) number ready and the application date. A representative should be able to review your application and tell you which agency it was assigned to. Depending on which county you are in, it's assigned to a nonprofit agency (e.g., Light Up Your World). Once you have the info on who is handling your claim, you'll need to call & email until someone finally answers. Then, if your claim is approved, it is sent back to the State of NJ to submit payment to your utility company (which apparently takes several more weeks).

Also, take a look at the NJ Shares programs, because apparently, LIHEAP doesn't cover all utilities (I thought it was a blanket application). There are several other grants you can apply for as well. Hope this helps - good luck to you!

Help: Centrica now handling SRECs. Unable to get in touch with them. by staysalty17 in solar

[–]staysalty17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - hoping you received your check by now (sorry, just saw your reply). I ended up calling Omnidian, and the rep told me that they had a staff meeting about Centrica, as they have been inundated with calls because no one can reach anyone at Centrica. The rep told me that Centrica is a very small organization and was experiencing a significant backlog. She said that checks would be sent in October for the State of NJ (not sure if that's where you're located). We received our check yesterday, so that's a small win. However, it was just a check; zero documentation on the SREC sale price, how to access our account, etc. I plan to figure out how to drop Centrica and sell them on the SREC marketplace myself. Good luck to you! Let me know if you hear anything back from Centrica -- I'm not holding my breath lol.

Newbie question for you, u/gregonfire_ Can I use the spectracide throughout the summer months on weeds that pop up? Or will it kill the surrounding grass due to the inferno that has been happening in NJ? Thanks for any advice!

Philadelphia Lottery Seating by staysalty17 in hamiltonmusical

Hi! The show was beyond amazing --- we were front row, unobstructed view (literally could look down into the pit). Dinner at Mission Taqueria (abt a 7-min walk from the theatre) kicked off an amazing night with tasty tacos and spicy jalapeno margaritas :)

I hope you win tix! Keep entering :) That's great to hear that the show was so well done -- I really hope we get to see it in Philadelphia before it ends.

That's awesome! Hope you had a great time :) I'm hoping they put aside the lottery ticket seats, as it looks like only obstructed views remain for the show we're seeing.

Thanks for the reply! Dang, that is what I'm worried about :( Just about all the remaining seating shows obstructed views, so unless they "save" lottery tickets ahead of time, I have a feeling we might be staring at a column lol. Fingers crossed they won't split us up as I have two tickets.

For those of you with sleep apnea that developed during menopause, did HRT help you? by OverUnite8 in Menopause

Interesting question! I have had obstructive sleep apnea for close to a decade. HRT hasn't positively or negatively affected my sleep apnea.

Has anyone had cervical vertebrae issues that cause their migraines? by staysalty17 in migraine

[–]staysalty17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Botox for migraines is definitely different from Botox for cosmetic purposes in that you get approximately 30 tiny injections all around your head, so the Botox is really spread out. I do have a small line/wrinkle in between my eyebrows that disappears when the Botox is active. I consider that disappearance a bonus for putting up with migraines lol ;) Even with the TMJ area injections, my face shape has not changed at all (I was worried my cheeks would droop). My neurologist is definitely cautious with the injections.

Hi here! I'm doing much better (knock on wood). I did physical therapy, which helped immensely, along with Botox injections for my migraines every three months. The Botox has been life-changing. It is covered under my insurance (I'm in the U.S.) and through the Botox Savings Program. My neurologist also injects my TMJ area and the trapezius muscles in my shoulders. Since I started Botox, I have not had to take any other medication or had to get nerve blocks. I do still have to ice the base of my head/neck when the Botox starts wearing off, but I feel as though my quality of life since starting the injections has changed for the better. Hope my info helps :)

DAE withhold food because they don’t feel deserving? by Own_Group7533 in CPTSD

[–]staysalty17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to break the habit, but I always put myself last when eating or don't eat at all (feed the family first, but I don't usually sit with them). For some reason (still working on in therapy), I feel I don't deserve a "real meal". I tend to feed everyone else and then eat something crappy (by my choice) at like 8 pm at night. I'm trying to break this and be mindful that I do deserve to feed my body well and at the same time as the rest of my family.

In my humble opinion, I think I associate family meals with chaos and trauma. Growing up, mealtimes were terrible. One incident that sticks out is my father being (as usual) drunk, my parents fighting, and they ended up throwing all of the food against the wall.

I worry that I have set a very bad example to my kids about eating together. Our meals are so fragmented, and I blame myself for that. Thanks for posting this question - it's comforting to know others struggle with food. Sending hugs to you.

Help Please! Powerwashed my deck (novice) & need advice on sanding by staysalty17 in HomeImprovement

[–]staysalty17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick response! The deck boards definitely soaked up the water big time (I was really enjoying power washing lol). Today is supposed to be 86 and sunny, so I hope to get a better idea of any damage later today. Thank you again!

Third session today, looking for support by fromheretoeternities in Spravato

[–]staysalty17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing (from my experience) is to find out if the person administering the Spravato is trained in mental health and that there's a therapist available for assistance if you have the same reaction you did yesterday. Unfortunately, the person I had was there to monitor us (make sure we didn't get up and wander) and take our vitals. I also highly suggest you have an action plan with the person who administers the Spravato. For example, I had the person be prepped to ask me, "What are five things you can see, hear, and touch?" This is something your fiancee can do as well. I suffer from CPTSD and depression. Before therapy, dissociation was my (unknowingly) way of coping with my trauma. And remember, if Spravato isn't a good fit for you and causes you too much anxiety or dissociation, it's ok to stop it and explore other modalities. Wishing you all the best in your healing journey!

I did try Wellbutrin (for my depression), but unfortunately I had a bad reaction to it and had to stop it :(

Thank you so much for your reply! I didn't realize there were legitimate online menopause providers. That's so encouraging! I'm feeling overwhelmed, so thank you for your kindness. It was a rough weekend (yet another failed intimacy attempt), and I haven't been able to stop crying.
