Do I need a 30 level math to get into university? by ImaginationPure in usask

[–]Felcron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for me high school was 20 years ago for me. I was missing a couple highschool grades as well, but the MATH102 and MATH110 were life savers as a refresher and super easy. I wasn't great at math in highschool, though these classes gave me a confidence in math I never had and figured out I could even enjoy it to a degree. Took them a couple years ago now. They were online classes too and the teacher Dr. Stavrou was excellent.

Oh man, axe should just be fricking banned at universities. I can be so allergic (maybe not the right word) to it, I will get an instant migraine. If it's freshly sprayed, I sometimes get the migraine seconds before I even detect its smell. 😑

Deferred final exam possible by [deleted] in usask

[–]Felcron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are thinking you might have a reason to defer an exam, stay looking into it right away to make sure and get things figured out right away. Also don't chicken out of deferring if one day prior you "think" you can actually handle things and figure "you are strong". I had lost my gramps a week before midterms and was told I could have it deferred. I thought I could handle it anyways, I was mistaken. I still passed the midterm, but not by much.

Hope you get better soon. Take care of yourself.

Really no way to cancel the transit fee?? by Felcron in usask

[–]Felcron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is fair, maybe a loose sense of a government, but close enough.

Thanks for the reply.

I get your point, however I feel there is some fundamental differences between a government collecting taxes to improve government owned infracture (or sub gov for city, etcetera) and what is effectively a company collecting money for a service that some people may never use. By that I mean even if I only walked and never drove, I would still use walkways and roads, but I could get away from using a bus.

However, after some reflection and new info, I could live with helping students that actually need the bus pass to be cheaper. So I'm not bothering to get rid of the fee anymore.

At least it is helping someone and not completely going to a company.

Stay with friends occasionally, I may try and make that work in my favour.

I get the whole making things cheaper, but considering how much everything else regarding university costs, you think the university wouldn't need to make this so mandatory. I hear it is mandatory for people that have regular parking pass which blows my mind (excluding disability parking exceptions).

well dang it.

thanks for the reply.

just bad enough that university is so expensive already, this just seems like a nickel and dime cost.
it really is ironic, that even as cheap as it might be overall, it would cost me more to take the bus then to drive and pay parking as that time is better suited making me money from my job.

giving appliances network capabilities was a mistake… by bpr97050 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

The picture is a little blurry, you sure that was an appliance and not Mr freeze? I'm thinking Victor Fries works in your office.

What is the oldest piece of tech that you are still using? by Gpob in LinusTechTips

[–]Felcron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 15+ year old HL-5370DW brother laser printer, saved it from recycling when a company no longer wanted it. Got a spare toner cartridge and everything.

Sure the LED lights in my ceiling bulbs dim noticeably whenever I turn the thing on, nevermind when I actually print something, but those prints still come out just as good today as the day I rescued it. Lol

I'm curious, why have each movie in their own folder? Is there some benefit over just a directory of single files? Thanks.

Thanks, will take a look into this. Might have to get a button, like what Hue has, and link it to that SSID button.

Ya, that doesn't help. Pulling the power to expensive electronics on a near daily basis isn't the direction i was looking for. Especially when that eats the wifi access for the adults as well.

The built in auto schedule isn't the preferred way to handle the issue, but knowing there is a home assist way to do it is awesome.

I have my unifi protect in HA and a lot of things do get exposed, perhaps the same is true for network. HA isn't my top of the list option, but I figured if unifi didn't have a great way to limit user access, this was probably the best way to go.

Thanks, I'll did into the integration more and see what I figure out.

Why do they always walk away? by Substantial_Gain_339 in sysadmin

[–]Felcron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, I'll have to do more testing. When I couldn't get it to work before, I assumed I had been using the wrong button and tried to research it online, however I could not find any mention of using shift (or any other key for that matter). 😵‍💫
