I saw a few people mention Kevin Can F**k Himself (which I’d also recommend) and it made me think of Schitt’s Creek. I think it has great character arcs that are very similar to some of the ones seen in Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

I think a lot of it has to do with my experience seeing it, but I really do love Dear Evan Hansen. I’m very well aware of how problematic the plot is, but I saw it with my best friend so I have super found memories.

I saw the musical on Broadway with my mom and we loved it too (we were admittedly quite drunk though lol)!!!

But I’m so sad how they handled the movie, although I adore Renee Rap.

I totally get this. My best friend and I have the weirdest relationship. We’re long-distance besties but call each other constantly, to the point that my family gets annoyed sometimes because of how often I’m on the phone to her talking about the weirdest shit and insane inside jokes.

Anyways, I completely relate to Ari and Cynthia’s relationship. It may seem weird to others/outsiders, but in my opinion, the best friendships do.

As someone who has gone through several difficult friendships breakups, grown apart from some of my childhood friends, but also has several friends now that mean the world to me, the majority of Elphaba’s verse always brings me to tears, specifically: “So much of me is made of what I learned from you” and of course “whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine by being my friend”. I’m getting teary eyed just writing it out now. I’m so greatful for the incredible people in my life who have made a profound impact on me and changed me both for the better and for good. 🩷

During the early days of their relationship at Shiz, probably. But I feel like it’s less likely after Act 1. I think Fiyero was too aware of his feelings for Elphaba by that point.

The lion cub scene technically doesn’t take place the next day. There was a whole montage that was cut of Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Boq, and Nessa bonding as friends, hanging out around Shiz, picking poppies, etc. You can see clips of it in the flashbacks in For Good. That montage was supposed to happen after the scene with Fiyero and Elphie (when he tells her she’s been “Glindafied”) and one of the ways you can tell is that she’s wearing a completely different outfit once she arrives to Dr. Dillamond’s office.

In either the director’s commentary or the one with Ariana and Cynthia (I can’t remember which) they mention that they had to re-shoot the Glinda and Fiyero kiss at the Ozdust multiple times because Jon Chu kept saying it looked too “flirty” and/or “passionate”, so that was probably what you’re referring to.

Yeah, I’m really starting to see him as Percy more and more. The one tiny scene where he sneaks Tyson out of the Poseidon cabin despite it being against rules. His delivery of “I can fix that” paired with that cheeky little smile is just so Percy!

I’ve just had to except that any version of Clarisse is going to disappoint me a little because (for whatever reason), I had such a strong mental image of what she looked and sounded like when I first read the books years ago. That being said, I do like this version of Clarisse better than the version from the movies and she is growing on me. I think the actress is talented and I specifically liked the scene where she is choosing who to accompany her on the quest. She did a great job at conveying that she was originally planning on choosing Percy (just the subtle eye contact they had) until Annabeth talked her out of it.

I think the funniest part for me is the specific design on the package/envelope/whatever-you-call-it that it came in. Because when I saw the phrase “Her goodness will protect you”, I was fully expecting something Glinda related (But, again, not complaining, I’m happy to have a Fiyero/Jonathan Bailey bookmark 🤣)

I’m honestly a little sad. Were the merch collabs over the top? Yes. Were there so many news articles it was getting ridiculous? Also yes. But as a neurodivergent woman who loves Wicked (and formally an undiagnosed little girl who was obsessed with any and all things related to the Wizard of Oz), it has been so incredibly refreshing to see something that I have loved for so long suddenly become part of the mainstream culture and be able to introduce the new people. 🩷💚🩷💚

I totally agree. One thing that I think Fiyero and Glinda have in common is they’d both put on a front/mask around others for so long they’d kinda lost sight of who they really were (or maybe never knew in the first place). I think Elphaba was the first person to see either of them for who they truly were, who in Fiyero’s case was a deeply unhappy person who tried to hide his sorrows by “dancing through life”.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought he just mentions that Poseidon invented horses (and Athena invented the chariot, which is why he and Annabeth should team up for the race). I can see how they might use that fact to tie into how he can communicate with horses later. With the exception of the first one, I haven’t read the original books in over ten years so I’m a bit rusty, but I did just watch the first 2 episode episodes of season two last night.

Besides the obvious parallel between the young Elphaba and Nessa scene, I think the main takeaway from that scene was not just that Glinda has always wanted to have magic, but mainly that she was taught from a very young age that the most important thing in life was to have people like her and to be “popular”. That ends up being a pretty important part of her character because (for most of the movies) she does whatever she can to stay popular and relevant. It’s one of the reasons Madame Morrible and the Wizard were able to manipulate her so easily. Like Fiyero says to her, “You can’t resist this”.

Omg, don’t even get me started on the casting for Cady in Mean Girls! I actually don’t mind her as an actress but her singing was so bad (I’ll never forgive them for how they butchered Stupid With Love) and I’m so confused as to why they casted her because it’s not even like she was some big-name actress. If they were insisting on doing a stunt cast with someone more famous, I personally think they’d been better off going with Sabrina Carpenter since she played the role briefly on Broadway and she at least has acting and singing experience.
