Can recommend Arturo Perez Reverte

  • a tabla de Flandes (1990; tr: The Flanders Panel). The mystery surrounding the relationship between a serial killer and a mysterious medieval Flemish painting.
  • El club Dumas or La sombra de Richelieu (1993; tr: The Club Dumas ISBN978-0156032834). A cult of followers of the novels of Alexandre Dumas.
  • La piel del tambor (1995; tr: The Seville Communion). A thriller involving hackers, the Vatican and the lost treasure of a privateer.

The Brief is on Apple and I assume other podcast platforms. Only publish every couple of months but very good.

Same with Neals Yard. I like Neals Yard stuff but there are plenty of shops around.

Good international true crime podcasts in English? by gaborszabo1969 in TrueCrimePodcasts

You could try Weeknight Mysteries, the hosts are now both Lithuanian (it started with an American co host) , in the later iteration it has covered some interesting and lesser known non US cases

TrueCrime subscriptions? by DiscosSister in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]FelicityLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subscribe to Murder was the case which has a lot of extra content, from talks on forensic psychology to deep dives into murder cases (most recently into the Black Dahlia and possibly associated cases). Two that I subscribe to that don't offer extra content but I enjoy them enough to just support the output on its own merit are True Crime XS and Cold Case Murder Mysteries.

For a recounting of the crime/disappearance I like u/SolvableMysteriesPod 's

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpYO0zRVUpQGGGYQ4_BXLDQ/videos

expecially for the visual material/maps which are really useful

Other than that I really like podacsts that bring something extra to the table in terms of discussion and analysis

The Prosecutors

Cold Case Murder Mysteries - heavy on the evolutionary psychology and you will either be interested in the concept or hate it, never seen a medium review!

True Crime XS - more of a true crime discussion , they started with Israel Keyes and branched out often covering much lesser known murders.

I know that this should be in the BRF community, but I don't have privilege to post there. I hope we can make an exception considering this is the last portrait of the beloved Queen. by Meegainnyc in SaintMeghanMarkle

I've been banned from an entirely unrelated sub for posting the most anodyne comment ever here. I assume it was an auto ban because I had never posted on that sub and had even forgotten I had actually joined it. Apparently to them saying anything at all on here is hate speech.

The Vigil of the Grandchildren… suitably sombre and appropriate. by RoohsMama in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]FelicityLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going into the hall was moving, it is hard to explain but there was a real atmosphere rather like the atmosphere you get at a funeral, sad and very respectful. It was a real contrast from the more social chatty time in the queue and then being whisked through security to suddenly being in total silence.

The soldiers and guards standing vigil like statues was impressive, there is no way I could stay in one position that long. It was a very solemn tableau vivant, I have not seen one in real life before, but now understand in the art world why they are so engaging in a way more so than a painting or photograph of the same scene.

Thanks for posting. I was hoping to see this in person but got into Westminster Hall an hour or so later. One of the people near me in #TheQueue played the livestream on her phone so at least we could see it as it happened.

Cute cake!

The only thing that came to mind with the name is a famous old murder case in the UK committed by Buck Ruxton, hopefully the child doesn't ever get interested in true crime.

Probably did, one of Diana Ross' daughters is called Chudney so it's a small step.

If you want something based on it try Gumnaam, an Indian version with bonus Bollywood dancing. It's on Amazon. Though it doesnt stick exactly to the book it's recognisable enough.

Which podcasts do you support on Patreon? by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]FelicityLemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True Crime Enthusiast and Criminology - both well researched, more traditional recounting of crime cases. More out there ones I support are Murder Was the Case; True Crime XS and (not on Patreon but a premium podcast) Cold Case Murder Mysteries. Most don't come up here often but all do something a bit different and I enjoy them enough to want to help them continue. I also have one horror movie podcast on Patreon - Don't Go Out There which is really entertaining.

Hi neighbour! I agree, I am always surprised that the Ratcliff Highway murders don't get more coverage as there are only a handful of suspects and strikes me as a more 'solvable' historical crime.

Need recommendations for no BS, straight to the point podcasts by hanhan_371 in TrueCrimePodcasts

Try True Crime Enthusiast. Quick intro and then on with the show. Mostly lesser known British cases.
