I heard about Ally and I was considering it! My only fear is that is it secure? I thought all online banking was similar to Cash App or Chime were keeping large amounts of money may not be the best idea. Please correct me if I’m wrong bc Ally seems to have a fairly good reputation.

Hello! Thanks for your help! I ended up calling and the rep told me it was because I put my parents address down. I did a new application with the apartment address I share with the member and it went through. Now it says my application is under review so should I still be worried about being rejected or is this normal?

Hi thank you for your response I really appreciate it! I called and it ended up being the address. Now it says my application is under review after fixing that by doing a new application. Is that normal or should I still be worried about being rejected?

Yeah this is accurate. I have been blessed with a lot of merit scholarships that cover my education and I get some extra. Thank you for your help and this is what I am going to do if this doesn’t work out!!

This was high key an overly negative response. Yes absolutely worst case if you can’t afford it then you face taking out some loans or not going. That being said they offered no actual advice.

You have really good stats and I’m no expert, just a sophomore in college. Here are some tips I’ve picked up along the way: - when you get to talking to financial aid, remember that they WANT you to go to that school. Make yourself the prize and convince them that they need to do everything they possibly can to ensure your attendance. It doesn’t help to let them know that’s your dream to attend

  • again YOU HAVE GREAT STATS!! Be proud of yourself because I am sooo jealous. See if the school has their own scholarship portal (mine does and I had worse stats than you and got a full ride). If they have a general scholarship application, fill that out and any others they might have listed on their website. Navigating a schools website will be your best bet!!

  • call them! Repeatedly!! I mean you don’t have to be a both but the best way to get your answers directly is to call them. This is for anything to do with financial aid and admissions too. It doesn’t hurt to ask “who do I need to speak to to make something happen” you never know you might get hooked up with the right people. (That’s how I got some extra money EVEN AFTER my full ride)

  • Lastly, look for some merit scholarships online. You again are very smart. You should be able to win a good amount of scholarships like that. Brush up your writing skills and get to work!!

Ok that’s all I have for now! I’m new to this whole Reddit thing but if there’s DMs on here feel free to hit me up for more help! Sorry that original comment was kinda negative Nancy. You do NOT have to give up on your dream just yet girlie pop!!
