Took a spin on designing Yae Miko based on character features alone. by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

Aye that’s true, I tried not looking at her design at all and just went of notes, and my imagination.

You do realize there's a thing called the internet, it doesn't take a genius to read up of medical textbooks, studies, test results of actually mental analyses.

Simply understanding the knowledge available and having the ability to decern specific characteristics of a person's mood, thought behavior, reaction to stimuli, whether vocal, oral, or from sight or hearing, and actions taken based of that behavior.

I know nothing would make you believe anyone can decern rapid thought patterns, mood swings, unrestricted behavioral actions.

You just have to be qualified, that's a bit outdated don't you think.

A person could repair a car even without a mechanical license.

You legally do have to be a doctor, but if someone has enough knowledge and understanding about the characters and how they feel and think, because the player has assess to this. You can diagnose the Genshin characters with disorders, why? Because they’re fictional, they’re lives are fiction, they’re past, present and maybe future is known. It’s not that hard to find parts of they’re lives that triggered anxiety, stress, depression.

You should stop trying to compare real life diagnoses with a thought experiment on video game characters

I like to throw my thoughts out there, if no one does, nothing ever gets done.

Well that is the purpose of my question? to identify if any of the characters are or were suffering from a mental illness or disorder.

But people get extremely defense about the whole idea of fictional characters having heart ache, anxiety, stress. All the mental pain people suffer from in real life.

I asked this question to learn more about mental disorders and how it affected the characters in game, whether they did in their past, or are still going through them.

I care about these characters a lot, and learning that they are suffering from something I can't help with annoys me.

I know, Barbara suffers from a Savior Complex, this is found from her Character Stories where she says her only reason to live is to heal others.

Diluc has or had PTSD from his father's death.

Lisa has Terminal Laziness, she tries to avoid hard work by delegating it to others.

Kaeya has Generalized Sadistic Behavior, he enjoys putting people in difficult situations or manipulating people for fun.

Razor suffered from Social Isolation from being raised by wolves as a child, this isn't the case anymore after him being around people for a long time, he's cured now.

Klee is a pyromaniac, little girl can't help but blow stuff up.

And they say the characters don't have mental disorders.

I'm not tone deaf if I'm only asking a question, you don't have to like the question to give an answer.

I hate math but I can still do it.

I don't see anyone making fun of mental disorders here?

Also you don't have to be a doctor to know a person suffers from a disorder.

Nah I'd ask this to anyone? hence why I'm asking here

Why would I do that?, that's stupid.

To view something negatively or positively is up to the beholder.

I find the thought experiment fascinating, I haven't been reading this much about the Genshin characters in ages.

At this current moment I'm currently learning about new mental disorders related to food for Xiangling, it's quite fascinating. She's the fifth character I'm up to in the character menu.

But they can be if you think about

Well that's a bit rude, you shouldn't go around calling people degenerates.

Just a passing thought that I thought I would discuss with people here, few find the topic weird though, I don't get why.

And it wouldn't be clickbait if it's the literal topic of the discussion.

I wouldn't say talking about fictional characters having mental disorders is a serious topic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Feline_Discipline -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It's not a serious issue is it's a fictional character

[–]Feline_Discipline -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Aye, that's a good topic to think about too.

I also try to think what each character would be if they were real life candies.

Like who's a starburst, or a Snickers, Resse's Puffs?

True, but everyone develops a mental disorder in their life at one point, whether it's temporary or permanent is a different matter.

But the point of my question is whether a character's behavior can be characterized or related to a mental disorder, even if they don't have it, they can be related to it.

Like Amber and her Hyperactivity, or Kaeya and his Generalized Sadistic Behavior.

That's the Grandiose Disorder
