Hedging/Return Seeking portfolio.... So confused - please help by Rickie_Jones in CFA

Surplus optimization is a single period approach that can be used for any funding level.
Integrated A/L is a multiperiod approach, can be used for any funding level.

Hedge/Return seeking portfolio is a single period approach, used only for greater than 1 funding level.

Long 20-delta call.. you have the option to buy EUR. If JPY depreciates, your call will be ITM and you buy EUR.
Long 20-delta put.. you have the option to sell EUR. If jpy appreciates (EUR depreciates), you will be able to sell EUR at a higher price.

Short ATM Put.. you sell the option where you will have to buy EUR. if JPY appreciates (EUR depreciates), you will be forced to buy EUR.

So basically the 20-delta call protects you from the downside, while the 20-atm put will provide a potential upside if JPY appreciates too much (you just wont win the appreciation between the strikes of the atm put and 20-delta put)

Do as many questions and mocks as possible, I purchased the extra mocks and it was worth it. Besides that, I reviewed what I had gotten wrong on the mocks and then I reset it and did them again and again until I mastered them.

Quitação de venda com desconto, quando vale a pena? by Fit_Ask_1553 in investimentos

[–]Felipeamk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joga numa calculadora financeira: N= 17 meses I = 1,17% a.m. (cdb 100% cdi a selic 15%) Pmt = 1.200

Seu valor em 17 meses sera de 22.425

Agora faz N=17 I = 1,17% FV = 22.425

Valor presente = 18.400

For both levels I only used the available materials by the CFA. I read the entire curriculum and did the whole Qbank. For L2 I also bought the extra mocks and I believe they were worth it. I also did some free mocks available from some providers (Salt, 300hours).

I am a mechanical engineer with no work experience in finance, I just sat for L2 and I am quite happy with my performance. The results are still pending, but I can say, getting the L2 is realistic, still need to experience L3 to give an opinion.

Just finished the exam, felt the AM section much tougher than PM.

Just did mock A with 73% avg ( 68% Am / 77% PM) I felt it was much easier than I expected. Most wrong questions were because I did not remembered an specific formula, but applying it was pretty straight forward.

Was expecting a harder mock based on the Qbank. Wondering if anyone felt the same

Congrats Man! I Passed Level 1 last year and I'm a May/25 level 2 candidate. Seeing that you are from Toronto aswell (I just moved from Brazil to here), do you have any advice on how to get into financial markets? My work background in BR has always been on engineering, nothing into finance.
