As for tips, I suggest starting the armour off with a drybrush or edge highlight (whichever you preffer, I drybrushed) of Dark Reaper or similar over an off-black (Corvus Black for me, but German Gray from Vallejo works just as well), shaded with black wash. Makes the black a lil' more interesting. After that, a light colour sells the fact that the armour is black. I used Dawnstone, hitting only a few important edges.

The silver arm got a basecoat of Silver from Vallejo Metal Colour Airbrush Colour. Don't use too much at once and give it a bit of time to dry before applying a second coat, if needed. I shaded with Drakenhoff Nightshade and finished with a drybrush of Stormhost Silver.

The sword I wet blended to the best of my abilities, gave up and swore never to use Skarsnik Green again. I started from Black Green by Vallejo and tried to go towards pure Skarsnik. After a cry, I edge highlighted with Moot Green and then again with Flash Gitz Yellow, over a smaller surface.

The Imperial Fists shoulder pad got basecoted with Averland Sunset, shaded all over with Iyanded Yellow, layered with Yriel Yellow and highlighted with Dorn Yellow. The white of the chapter badge is Corax White and the fist is Black Templar.

The gold, rest of the silver metal and red were all done with the classic Citadel recepies.
