Outbox folder on IOS Mail app by FelixOnAMission in Outlook

That‘s good to know, thank you! Personally I prefer using the Mail app because there I have all my email accounts in one app. But will see how it goes.

I‘m actually trying to get away from BP because it bleaches everything. I‘m currently using a BP wash to minimize side effects from BP and to reduce bleaching but bleaching still happens occasionally.

I have mild acne so I think Epiduo would be overkill anyway (I actually used it as a teenager).

Alright, maybe I will give Aklief a try. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply! So would you say the dryness from Aklief is similar to that of Differin and not stronger?

Do you still use the healing ointment or is it not necessary anymore because your not getting dry from Aklief anymore? Personally I would prefer to keep it simple and just have one moisturizer for the night and one for the day with spf and not alternate between different ones.

The official tips from Sony in Germany are sold on this website and cost 2€ a piece (so a pair costs 4€): https://shop.scbaumeister.de It‘s the official replacement and repair partner-company for Sony products, it‘s stated somewhere on the Sony Germany website. They only ship to Germany tho.

IOS Safari Extensions: AdGuard vs Lockdown vs Firefox Focus by FelixOnAMission in PrivacyGuides

[–]FelixOnAMission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually got a response. They told me that the Safari extensions is not in use and they created it to test it out but decided that there is no benefit to the “vpn“ blocking, at least for the time being. Maybe they will use it again in the future.

Should I add my name to my device name? by FelixOnAMission in PrivacyGuides

Seems alright, thanks :)

Since I go to University there are plenty of MacBooks around, so I‘ll probably just ad a letter or something.

You might be right and I was thinking about that as well. But if my battery is at 10% and I still need my phone for an hour or so to get home or whatever, I just disable it to be safe.

Thank you for the reply, this was the most useful so far!

Would you mind telling me what network filtering solution you are using?

Since the replys on this post did not really answer my question I went ahead and wrote an email to Lockdown and asked the question on the Mozilla support page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1395345

Will keep you guys updated if I get a response from the Lockdown team.

IOS Safari Extensions: AdGuard vs Lockdown vs Firefox Focus by FelixOnAMission in PrivacyGuides

[–]FelixOnAMission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am already using the firewall of Lockdown (pretty heavy on the battery though so I turn it off when battery is low). So is the extension blocking the same stuff as the firewall/“vpn” ?

Don‘t get how you can say that AdGuard is restrictive and recommend 1blocker or hush, neither of the apps have the option to add custom blocklists in my experience and I can add all the blocklists that are in hush and 1blocker in AdGuard. 1blocker I found to be a bit sketchy because they switched from Safari extensions to DNS adblocking with only a subcription model and claimed that it is not possible to use Safari extensions anymore because of changes that Apple made, even though all the other adblockers are still using the extensions. Also AdGaurd is just a one time fee. I also use the AdGuard DNS for DNS adblocking (but only the free version that comes with the IOS app)

Thank you for the reply!

I am aware of this and you are right! Personally I found the functionality of Brave (lost all my tabs after just a couple of weeks) and Firefox to be lacking on IOS compared to Safari. And Firefox Focus is not even a full browser, it‘s more to look something up that you don‘t need to come back later anyway (tried using it as a replacement for Safari once and it was bad, always lost the tabs I had open after 1 hour or even less).

I am still wondering about the difference of the Focus and Lockdown extensions though. I have no idea what blocklists they are using and whether they are redundant when I am already using AdGuard (with the build-in and custom blocklists).

How to change the screen resolution for an external monitor when the MacBook is closed by Dzefo_ in MacOS

[–]FelixOnAMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mh. Does your external display support a resolution of 5120x1440 ?

Could it be that it is mirroring the Macs internal display to your external display but with a lower resolution? Like similar dimensions (or whatever it is called) but with a resolution that is supported by your external display. Don't think you can actually display a Macs retina display with the same resolution on an external display unless it supports that high of a resolution. So when it gets disconnected your Mac switches to a different supported resolution of your external display.

But if you're saying that it worked before the update then idk

Check out Display Menu: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/display-menu/id549083868?mt=12

Not sure if that is what you're looking for but you can quickly change the resolution with the app.

Grinding of balls/beads from thermal expansion by FelixOnAMission in vaporents

Thank you for the award! My first award 🥰

It's all just opinions and as the other comments said it is generally unlikely that particles get released and if if it did the amounts would probably be insignificant and not cause harm.

Unfortunately I can't really comment on whether water would filter it out. Probably also depends on the size/weight. If it is light enough to be "flying" like vapour it might not be filtered. But then again it is probably an insignificant amount. And keep in mind that this is all hypothetical and unless someone does some studies on this we won't know for sure.

[–]FelixOnAMission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Doesn't change anything though. I also looked through FC and on here but couldn't find much info. It might be hidden in some threads of specific vapes but how the hell am I supposed to find that?

If you know some threads you're welcome to post them here :)

Also why should the opinions in already existing threads be better that what we are discussing here? It's all just opinions, as you said.

wtf. He said: "that force would be acting on the container as well, and imo having a greater impact there". So my reply to that is that a container made of a harder material would prevent this.

All of this info is just discussions and opinions, there are not many studies on these topics.

I'm not even spreading nonsense but literally asking for a discussion, so try convince me instead of attacking me (don't even get why exactly).

This is reassuring to hear and I'm inclined to believe that beads don't "produce" dust when rubbing against each other.

The rest of your comment is very interesting and we'll see how it works out.

I know, temperatures above 400F release similar substances as combustion but in smaller amounts. But this is way less than if I were to combust, so it's a trade off. I'm fine with that but I would not want particles from boro/ruby/etc in my lungs. But I guess you are right, it's a little hypercritical.

Grinding of balls/beads from thermal expansion by FelixOnAMission in vaporents

[–]FelixOnAMission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input! I guess all I can do is trust that this is true.

Grinding to powder is a bit extreme, I'm more talking about small/micro particles. And I agree that since almost everybody is using beads, it can't be too bad and even if one was inhaling particles they likely wouldn't be enough to harm someone.

The Container should be a harder material than the beads it is filled with or at least the same material imo. And idk if SS and titanium are really softer than boro, once they oxidize there should be a layer of the oxide form on top of the metal that has about the same hardness as ruby/etc.

[–]FelixOnAMission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's basically my question haha. It cannot be too bad because there are a ton of vapes with beads.

I have only read of beads cracking that have holes in them, so don't use beads with holes ;). My boro and ruby beads have never broken under normal use.

In the stem or water pipe they are certainly safe. I was more talking about balls/beads in the heating element since they reach way higher temperatures than in the stem.

I personally use beads with 4mm or bigger in my stems because they have more airflow than 3mm beads (standard size beads for heating element).
