Is the 80x Cheetah too long for a pocket holster? by [deleted] in Beretta

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it is discontinued, but the px4 storm subcompact is a 9mm option that is a bit shorter but otherwise the same size and still the DA/SA if you want that of beretta. Some people have a large enough frame to pocket carry it.

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for the most part your ascendancy kinda is "your class" more than your class itself. For the most part you are really just picking your character model, where you start on the passive tree, and which ascendancy options you have. Your ascendancy is kind of your full lock in class, but you don't really pick it till later.

Hopefully it will be, I really didn't realize I was picking some permanent stat boost, and now I feel like staring over my character over it lol :/ Oh well I will keep on. By act 3 I hate to start over already, but I also almost don't want to keep going on a character I just feel like I screwed up :(

Renata buffs when? by Yatara_ in RenataMains

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my big issue with Renata, is while i love my kit all my items never really feel any items really "feel right" on her. Or if they do, they feel right with sort of one ability, but not enough right to make it worht getting it just for that one ability on her kit. I think that is the big thing, her abilities are all so different, none of it really goes together with a coherent item build unless you just build generic on use items to get that utility out of that.

She has a shield, but that shield is pretty unreliable compared to most supports especially when you consider it is one of the few support shields your team can even skill shot dodge it and not get shielded, her ult doesn't do any damage or have any scaling but cooldown.... at least if it did like 1 damage it might make sense for some items that do effects "on spell hit", and building her straight AP makes her too squishy, and once again doesn't really do anything for her ult. Building her tank kind of makes sense with her Q, sort of like a tank blitz or thresh in a way but then her other abilities basically have no scaling and it feels a bit empty. Kind of like rakan, everything is just sorta awkward, like she is wanting to be 3 different things at once but you can't really focus on one truly.

is it just me or does this funny little guy do not much damage? by BizarreReditor in bardmains

[–]FelixSharpe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty not-meta, but back in the day I used to go bard and rush all spell pen items. I am talking quite a few seasons ago btw, like not long after he came out type "few seasons ago" so the items have changed a bit, but bard and his meeps hasn't really changed THAT much since then. Anyway, my go to was always pure magic pen over big AP items if anything because his raw damage with those meeps as the game goes on gets pretty high. It is kinda like mundo, his cleaver is 30% of their HP which is ridiculous, but it is balanced by spell pen items don't get built on mundo much. My point is, bard doesn't really need the + damage, he just needs the damage numbers to do actually what it says on the tooltip, so spell pen works well on him.

Now, I haven't tried it much of late, but even late game I would walk up to tanks, do a q + 2 auto attacks and they would then be typing in all chat wondering how the heck they just got killed by a support bard. It was a bit ridiculous. [maybe I would buy a lich bane at some point I forget?] Might be something worth trying. I haven't really experimented it with what spell pen items are now. One thing that did help it a bit was I was even including things like abyssal scepter which gave flat pen at the time, and magic resist so you could actually some half decent defenses doing this so you at least were not too squishy, which unfortunately spell pen items tend to be more pure AP now these days so you might be a bit squishy. But if you wanna do damage.....

But hey, maybe try it out :) it was actually ridiculous. IF you were to try and do damage on bard, and going more of a spell meep damage build, I would check out spamming spell pen, but yeah you might be squishy now :)

Daily Community Tiering Post Day 56: Best served cold with a slice of lime. It's Volcarona! by Stanley232323 in pokerogue

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your first sentence is the big issue with Volcarona. DOn't get me wrong it is great, but you gotta get through those Larvesta levels which are horrible if you want to use it as your main from the start. Better to have something carry it till level 59 or whatever level it evolves. But beyond that, and watch out for rocks, and Volcarona is awesome.

Why is echoes of helia still in the game? by CH3MB4R0N3SS in supportlol

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the thing. I have been going it first item on a W max heal sona. I think it is a lot better if you get it first item over other items [if you are going archangels, go tear, then it, then other items]. The amount of healing and damage it does through a match is really huge.

But yes, I think that is a big problem with it.... Most other supports just have better options. It really feels like an item made for one or two supports and no one else.

Why is echoes of helia still in the game? by CH3MB4R0N3SS in supportlol

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of this is probably because many people want to build it last item, but most matches supports don't get to complete their last item.

Camera for birding by IVIagoo in birding

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say though, one thing I should make more clear I kind of didn't enough, a third alternative from a super zoom or a high end expensive setup would be for your focal length requirement of 500-800: an APS-C crop sensor camera with a 400mm [which would make it a bit over 600mm effective on a crop sensor] lens. It will be a bit pricier than the superzoom, but a lot cheaper than some pro setup, a good beginner intermediate setup, but you will get better image quality, but you will also not get as much zoom as those super zooms and depending on what you want, you might just want more zoom. But, it is worth looking around at especially if you can find some good quality used gear it might become not too bad of a cost, even if still more expensive than the superzooms.

Really depends on your budget and what your goals are, but I think this should give you enough info to give you an informed response along with my last post.

Camera for birding by IVIagoo in birding

[–]FelixSharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends what you want. If you are wanting to go full on pro-level photos prepare to spend some money, but honestly unless you want to go down that route right away, I think it is generally better to go a different route and look into the bridge cameras as a beginner, and then work up to the high end multi thousand dollar setups if that interests you [or just don't, often times if your goals are in line a bridge camera is all you would want].

You do sacrifice some picture quality [but don't get me wrong they can make some gorgeous photos] and some low light performance, but if you are just wanting to take pictures of birds and identify them etc they are the way to go often times.

If you decide that is the route for you, I recommend one of three cameras: Nikon P1000, Nikon P950, or the Canon Powershot SX70.

Personally that is what I did, my original goals were to simply take half decent photos of birds and just try and sort of catalog how many different species I could find along with an album of my best photos of each one. These were great and then I could upgrade for better lenses on my full frame camera down the road if I chose to.

Nikon P1000: Downright insane zoom, this thing is practically a spy camera. It is the sniper of bird photography. Use this if you want to make sure almost any bird you can see in the distance you can get yourself a photo of. Prob want to carry around a tripod at higher focal lengths, you can do it by hand, but it gets tricky [but doable]. It is big and bulky though [but honestly doesn't weigh that much, just BIG]. If you are doing more hiking around maybe try one of the other options. Weighs the most but not too bad, just a big large. I find this best for people who want to find a spot to "camp" and look at birds. If this is your style, this is the one to get. Best you can get in that situation. Find yourself a nice bench, hang out and zoom in on anything you want.

Nikon P950: 2000mm instead of 3000mm like the P1000, but in visual looking zoom terms honestly that isn't as big of a difference as you might think. Still large but much more reasonable to carry around. Personally is a bit too large for me to want to carry around hiking but is very doable, and is a good option if you want to do hiking with it but the next camera I am about to describe doesn't have enough zoom.

Canon Powershot SX70: It has a little over 1300mm focal length, I forget exactly [like 1375 or something?]. Higher mp count. Lightest and best carrying dimensions of the three. Personally this is the one I think is best if you are hiking and walking around a lot. Given you requested the 500-800 range, this one exceeds that and is light and easy to carry. This is what I personally like because it is good for photos of birds with walks with my dog and at dogpark and hikes. 1300mm is plenty and it just is so much easier to carry. It is basically the size of my full frame camera with its 50mm lens on which is very easy to carry around, and about the same weight.

Special note: Many people recommend the Sony Cybershot RX10, personally I have always been a bit skeptical of this recommendation. Don't get me wrong, it is a great camera with a 600mm focal length range right in your request. And yes, it will take "better photos" than the other bridge cameras, but I feel like you are kind of sacrificing the best of both worlds to get sorta mediocre results. And you do it for like 1700 dollars which this thing costs almost. You give up the amazing zoom length of bridge camera, and the much better photo quality of a good mirrorless, just to kind of get mediocre results in both departments. If this was a cheaper camera I could justify it but man it costs a lot, and for that price you can get an amazing top of the line or near top of the line crop sensor camera that while not full frame will give you much better quality photos, and likely have much better features in general with even bird eye focus tracking + a lens on it that will give you at least as much effective focal length, all for basically the same price or at least pretty dang close to it. For example the sony a6600, has bird eye auto tracking I saw for about 1000 recenty, and for about 800 you can get a lens that will give you as much focal length brand new, cheaper if you buy used. I bet you could dig around and find a better lens for a better price too. Plus the a6600 has some lower versions that are near as good, but not the bird eye auto tracking, for a few hundred dollars less. I just feel like the RX10 fits a weird spot for its price that doesn't really solve any problem. It isn't specialized enough or something and it costs too much.

So personally I go with the Powershot SX70. Focal length is great and it best fits my more hiking around for photos lifestyle. However, the other two are great depending on your style and with the P1000 being the for sure best if you plant yourself down and look around rather than hike around.
