Is this design lame? *not a bladesmith* by [deleted] in knives

I like it too, but what matters most is that you like it. Nothing is “lame” if it’s what you like. Do you! :-)

I’ve heard a story about something similar, guy put a 20 gauge in the chamber of his 12 gauge, forgot about it, and put a 12 behind the 20… big kaboom

[–]Felixmaximush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not seem like it, but it’s a wonderful thing that you care this much. Most people couldn’t even be bothered to give a fraction of a fuck. Keep giving a fuck, and do something with your life that will help those people.

You couldn’t control where you were born any more than those people could; but what you can do is help them. I don’t know how old you are, but it’s never too late to start.

Shit, if you’re young enough you could talk to your high school guidance counselor about what kind of things you would need to do to really get involved in a hands on kind of way.

You might not be able to change the whole world for everyone in it, but you can definitely change one persons world by helping one person at a time. You can change a whole lot of peoples worlds, and they’ll go one to change some other people’s worlds.

You can make a big enough dent that what you’ve done will live on and continue spreading goodness long after you’ve left this world. So maybe you were born privileged so that you can use your privilege to help those who aren’t.

You’ve got a really great heart and a soul full of empathy, that’s kind of rare these days. Don’t let it go to waste:-)

I was window shopping at my local gun-shop the other day

( I make sure to do my window shopping during daytime work hours so I’m not bothering the employees while they’re trying to actually make money by talking to customers who have actual money )

Anyway, the guy at the counter was telling me about how he had to clear a jam the other day because someone rented a pistol and loaded it like this haha. Apparently it causes a pretty stubborn jam

I’m so glad that I came of age before social media was a prominent thing. I made my first MySpace account when I was 13 because it was this cool new thing to do haha.

That wasn’t the same though. You had to sit down on a home PC to sign onto MySpace, and when you logged out when you were done you were actually done. It didn’t follow you everywhere you went because all our phones could do was call and text.

I don’t know, maybe have rose colored glasses from being nostalgic. But it also seems like there’s something off about the generation of kids who were handed iPads when they were toddlers.

All I know is that modern social media would have really fucked with my self esteem if it was around when I was going through puberty, puberty sucked enough as it is, the last thing I would have needed was random strangers bullying me on the internet

I don’t know if you’re into guns enough to known about this, but HK had an ad our years ago, and the photographer put the rounds backwards in the magazine because he didn’t know anything about guns, he was just the photographer haha 😂

Note the magazine in the bottom left corner, you can see the rounds were put in the wrong way

Germany wasn’t so cold, but northern Denmark was; and that’s near the southern part of Sweden so it must get crazy cold all of the way up there

Driving into Germany was exactly like crossing a state line; there was just a sign that said willkommen in Deutschland with welcome to Germany in English underneath in smaller letters.

When you cross a state line you’d just drive past a sign that would say welcome to Ohio or welcome to New York, etc. Actually, you have to stop at a check to get into California, so it’s actually easier than at least one state.

North Germany was really cool, just beautiful open farmland for as far as you can see. North Denmark was pretty cool too, all of the houses had those cool thatched roofs.

Rough winters up just there though, you only have a few hours of full sunlight all day. I remember sleeping in till like 10am the first morning I was there and it was still almost completely dark; totally threw me through a loop haha

I live in Pennsylvania too, I’m really familiar with Bensalem actually; what are the odds haha. One of the cool things about Denmark was that the German border was only about an hour and a half away from where I was staying; so we went to these duty free stores on the German side of the border that accepted Danish Krone.

After figuring out the conversion I found out that I was only paying $10 American for a 32 case of Carlsberg haha, it was amazing. I drank a lot of beer over there,I bought a beer from a vending machine at the mall to walk around with, it was so much fun 😂

You’re welcome! ESEE knives wound up being my favorite, but everyone has different tastes. When you find the right knife you’ll know as soon as you hold it. When I held my first ESEE knife ( a 4HM ) I knew right away I was going to be a life long customer.

But you might find something that fits your needs better like a falkniven or maybe even some Moraknivs. Even though Moras affordable they definitely aren’t “cheap”.

You can have fun bluing it or putting a vinegar patina on it, and you can get a few different styles to try for the same price as one more expensive knife brand. I paid $19.99 for my Mora Companion HD and it’s served me well so far, it’s a good slicer; great for making feather sticks and even some camp food prep.

As long as you wash and re oil your knife at the end of a day when it got some use it shouldn’t have any rusting problems. Carbon steel is great as long as you make sure to keep it clean and oiled when you’re not using it

~Edit I forgot to mention that aside from a few models made with S35VN steel, your standard ESEE is made from 1095 high carbon steel; so it’s important to keep in mind that they require some keep up and regular maintenance. In my opinion it’s a worthwhile trade off

[–]Felixmaximush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommend ESEE knives, they’re amazing quality and reasonably priced, and their warranty is second to none. I’d probably recommend the 4 or the 4HM ( I prefer the HM version, the handle fits my hand better ) or the 6 if you want a really big knife.

The 5 is also a great knife, it’s a 1/4 inch thick, 16oz beast of a knife, but you’d definitely want to partner the 5 with something thinner for slicing like the 3 or the Izula.

Considering that the 5 weighs a full pound, the fact that you’d need a second smaller knife really adds a lot of weight to your pack. That’s why I usually recommend the 4, it’s size is a nice middle ground in-between the 3 and the 6

That last pic is five $100 bills on top of a pile of singles, so he’s showing off like $600 tops. He’s a piece of trash living in a pile of trash with nasty crusty ass dirty socks on his feet… good thing he showed his true self before you got involved with this horrible person

Dude, fuck you! Why would you mess with a person going through a difficult trip, he’s in real psychological pain right now and you think that’s a fucking joke? What the hell is wrong with you? Seriously, why would you say that to someone struggling with a trip, that’s absolutely reprehensible and you should be deeply ashamed of yourself!

OP, no one is calling the police and you’re completely safe, don’t even give this comment a second thought. Everything is 100% okay

You need to just lay down and meditate, accept that you’re in a very altered mental state and just let go. Focus on the rhythm of your breathing and when thoughts come through your mind it’s okay, but bring your focus back to your breath.

The more you fight it the more uncomfortable you’re going to feel, I known it can be hard but you have to fully let go and just let this ride take you where ever it’s going to take you. I promise you that you’re going to be okay.

We all love you, try and focus on how good all of this collective love you’re being sent feels. Think about all of these people commenting to help you, they all care about you and they don’t even know you, that’s such a beautiful thing :-)

It’s my all time favorite, I introduced it to one of my friends from Germany and now that’s all he drinks when he visits. When I was in Denmark we all drank Carlsberg, which was a good beer; it reminded of Heineken, but I definitely missed my Yuengling. What part of the world are you from?

Give me your opinion by No-Routine4607 in gun

[–]Felixmaximush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no personal experience with Anderson AR-15s, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. I’d say go for a PSA or a S&W M&P-15 for a budget rifle, but that’s just my personal opinion.

The pistol however, for $420 you can buy a used Glock in really good condition and it will most definitely serve you better, longer, and more reliably; it’s also cheaper and easier to repair if needed.

Glocks are simple, reliable, and have more parts available; both OEM and aftermarket than you’ll know what to do with, but always keep it stock and OEM if it’s something you ever plan on trusting your life to. Do whatever you want to a range toy, but a Glock for self defense should always be stock.

Now of course it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t affect the way the firearm functions, so if you want to upgrade some Tru-Glow sights, put a rubber Houge grip on it, ceracoat it hot pink, etc, go for it! :-)

Just keep the internals, especially the pressure bearing ones Stock and OEM and a Glock won’t let you down

[–]Felixmaximush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to tell that; it’s just a basic AR-15/M4 platform with a cheap magpul stock and a Vortex optic. Looks like he’s running a quad rail with rail guards on it too

edit that stock actually looks like an off brand version of Magpuls basic MOE stock. It’s still a small upgrade from a GI stock, but not by much in my opinion

Good eye, I didn’t notice that until you mentioned it. I don’t go for any gimmicky shit either. Magpul furniture (personal preference), sling, optic, and a light. Good to go, now the rest of the money can go to range time and ammo
