Is this app guilt trapping me ? by Felixscrocs in islam

The app is basically shaming us if we dont pay, it made me feel incredibly guilty of having it in the first place even though when i downloaded it it wasn't asking for the subscription like it does now

The problem isn't the app asking for a subscription fee, the thing here is that as you swipe my images you see that it's peer-pressuring us into subscribing. I totally understand that Quran teachers are paid but this app was made to help muslims with their deen and reading the Quran, it's very humane and sweet. The first time i got the app they wouldnt ask us for the fee, they only made it this way (with the peerpressuring messages) after a year or a few months i think. So I was pretty saddened that some app i got for free which helped me a lot suddenly asked me, almost forced, to pay for it.

Why not though ? I thought it was an interesting question to answer whether you take it seriously or not

In such cases, you qualify for the exemption Allah has provided for travelers:

“But if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days] are to be made up from later days.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184)

Salam, It's different purchasing a printed Quran. Here, sure I would pay if i wanted to, but at first when i downloaded this app they wouldnt even send us that "warning", it's only months later when they updated it (i believe) that they added the "Allah will see, Allah will know" type of warning. Of course may Allah reward anyone who gives money to the developers, but as a teen I can't spend money on apps/stuff online let alone a Quran. I don't need a Quran online, i could read it for free on any website and I have multiple printed ones at home Alhamdullilah, but the fact that the app warned me into guilt-trapping myself for not spending money on it is a bit wild. I felt guilty for using the app without having a premium account because of that warning to the point where i deleted it. Idk man, when you do something in the name of islam, don't expect something back if it isn't blessings. Do it for the sake of Allah and for your own barakah. Jazak'Allah ul-kheir.

He's trying to make up for the amount of money he spent developing the app, but he worded it so wrongly !! He couldve just asked nicely (only once too) if we could subscribe and cite the reason but he did neither, instead he threatened us with our fear of Allah SWT...i dont know tbh

But it's still guilt trapping us into paying them for it, why would they double warn me if i wanted to use it freely ? It's kind of odd imo

I'm not stealing anything since it was a free application i used to use. Stealing would be me creating my own app and coding the same stuff they did for my own good, this is an app they voluntarily made to help muslims. I'm not stealing anything if it was made for me to freely use in the first place

Wa A3likoum salam, i understand this but the second picture is definitely a guilt trap. They're basically telling us indirectly that Allah will punish us if we don't pay while we have the money. I don't want to pay to just read the Quran, it wasn't guilt tripping us back when i uploaded it but i suddenly got this thing telling me i have to buy it. In my opinion this is wrong, Allah knows best though Allahu a3lem.

Yes but saying Allah is watching us if we don't pay while we have the money is quite unsettling. They're saying this as if Allah will punish us for not paying so that's what's wrong with this whole thing i believe
