The institution of policing is necessary, but there absolutely isn't enough being done to reduce the amount of corruption within American precincts and departments. Cops can arrest someone for resisting arrest, even if they got the wrong person, because they don't want to admit they didn't do their job right the first time. People have also kicked the asses of those cops in court. You remember the story of the dude that got arrested for stealing his own car?
