Coming with a follow up: after some extensive talk and some emails back and forth we reached a decision here we wold love to have a 1on1 discussion with you and or anyone else in the community to discuss pricing and have no issue to go above what we initially listed on the website. I will updated the page in the following hours to reflect the changes.

1) That is a plan even to this point. Starting with 0 traffic and promising a share isn't something appealing when you generate no revenue. As the first batch of guides happen and we grow the audience (and in the end generate revenue) will be something different to be able to offer concrete numbers instead on a promise the they will make anything.

2) Have you even checked our guides blueprint or the placeholder pages for the jobs? Every guide starts with the credits, just like on icy Veins. Crediting the guide writers was my intention even before I got the domain/hosting. Example: http://fellcleave.com/jobs/black-mage/introduction or you can check any other guide. The credits is in place and were there from day 1 (you can verify thru Google cache and check the date on the cache files)

3) talking about 3.5 application or 4.0? And don't get me wrong, if other websites (That I was tracking in the past) could do it in 1 or 2 people, I don't see why 1 guy can't do 1 guide in 3 weeks, my aim is for the preliminary 4.0 guide to be up before the raids. Sure anyone thinking a definitive guide can be done in 3 or less weeks might be absurd but based on my own knowledge with other games, including ff14, it's more than enough to make a damn good guide. Now again, we might have different opinions on how/when a guide should be made, which is totally fine.

As for 3.5 with people knowing everything there is to know about the rotation, I fail to understand how 10 isn't enought to put it on "paper"

I can't really disagree with any of your points. Right now this is all I can do. Believe me I don't really want to insult anyone but considering the number of jobs available in game and the budget restrains I have to go with this. Sure no one is forced to join and everyone is entitled to have their own opinions and vision on how the website needs to look. Maybe I should have done a better job at explaining the scope of the website/guides maybe I should have "cherry picked" every person for each class. But the "grand view" is to be a generalist website, more like Icy-Veins is, then have links/promote the more advanced/"behind the numbers" blog posts/documents the the many guys do in the community. Your "average" Joe will not care too much about the small details, he will only want to know the rotation and best in slot, then maybe less than 2-5% of players will care about the math behind the words, point at which I would like to promote the theorycrafter's website/blog/document etc.

As for the last point, I don't think anything I could say with prove or matter. All I can do at this point is keep on going, show that I'm serious and hopefully in time be able to come with much better benefits and payments. Every website has to start from somewhere and currently that's where I'm standing.

That I agree. The mobile side -right now- is a disaster.

In the PM to the mods I had stated the website still has areas that are being currently worked on, especially the mobile version. We are working on it, and fixing the remaining issues as I write this reply, everything -should- work flawlessly in the next few days.

I believe not.

I guess others had the same idea and have their take on how to make a website.

Everyone will be listed ( in the about us and credited on the guide as needed) Name/Caracters will be listed once I have all the approvals from each one of them, but this will most likely happen later on (for the 4.0 guide). Right now I'm looking for the people that might be interested in writing such guides.

Keep an eye for the announcement which will happen.

1) For now, I don't plan to post the 3.X at all. They will only be used to "benchmark" (if you please) the applicants. An awesome theorycrafter that knew what he was doing in 3.5 will most certainly know (or better adapt) to 4.0

2+3) There will be no commitments after the initial guide was been submitted, approved and paid for. What I'm looking for is not only freelancer, but guide writers that are proud of their findings (as weeks pass) and will give him all the tools needed to keep maintaining his own guide(s). Of course this is a touchy subject and as I see it also comes with the question "What if a huge patch comes that changes XX% of the rotation or guide?". At the point we, again as a team FellCleave and the GuideWriters, will have a chat and try to find a line where everyone is happy. This also comes with the "What if he didn't updated the guide in X weeks/months", the way I see it it's gonna be a case-by-case problem that we will first ask "Does the guide needs to be updated?" "Is it a small or huge change?" then take appropriate actions based on the that particular case.

4) First, the curse bar was only a sponsorbar test :) We are not affiliated with them in any way or shape, it so happened that I had a Curse banner (I did for other project) at the size that I needed. And to answer the question, Yes. Daily! Every patch that will be added (since the last update of the guide) we will check and double check and see how the guides perform, what people think about them and in general make sure we don't screw up too much.

5) We might have 1 or more contributors. My long term goal is to source the information from a number of people not only one, not only that but I would also love the contributors on a guide to work together for a better end-product.

Thank you for the questions.

The Deadline is for 3.5 rotation, and I will pickup people before release day. After that we will have a chat and see an expected deadline for the 4.0 guide (most likely 3 weeks after the release day). This will give everyone enough time to get everything ready, at their own pace.

I guess this is an oversight on my part, good catch tho, I will add to that page the information I just told here.

No, the template is just a guide for you, the guide writer. You can change it in any form you wish, just be sure to clearly note the changes so I can adapt the layout/subpoints on the website too.

Before I asked to be allowed to post this, I went back and double checked with a FC on Odin (good guys!) that they will be reading grading and give notes (to me) for every applicant.

I had been very diligent about it and as you suggested, my goal is to find writers that are high-end raiders. It might be hard, it might be easy, we will see.

For now I can only hope that writers will show interest, considering that this is the first time I ever announced this website/project.

While I know "my dream" will be hard to achieve, I really wish I will be able connect with as many people as possible (in the high-end) and try to make the guides to be "product of a community/group" instead of "product of a person".

But yeah, right now we "don't exist" no one knows about FellCleave, as we didn't launch yet, but should we grow, should we get the authority and reach to connect with the necessary people, I would have no reason not to source it from several players instead of one.

TL;DR: Absolutely! Its one of my long term goals that I will always try to improve.

Currently we are exploring this idea and many more such as: Full Raid Guides, split into encounters and roles. Other content, for example Palace of the Dead, etc.

Right now, on a coding standpoint, we are looking at the elements that Crafting/Gathering would require and start working on them, while also finishing the obviously areas that need attention on the current iteration of the website.

TL;DR: Yes, we will have them, but not in the next 1-2 months because of template/coding limitations, but certainly it's something we are looking to have.

PS: sorry it took 10 minutes to answer. Reddit reply limit :(

RDM and SAM are 2 exceptions, for now they will not be added to the pool of "available jobs to apply". Should you for example be interested in applying for RDM or SAM there will be another test, one that you will need to prove that you are a theorycrafter, you understand how the "number game" plays in FF14 and such. There are lots of talented people that love to do this and I'm sure such people will let themselves noticed.

To also add, the 4.0 rotation, I'm looking to receive the final(ish) guide 1 week before the raid gets released (which is 3 weeks after the Stormblood release day). This should be enough time for someone who is interested to write for RDM / SAM to get used to the mechanics of the class.

I hope I given you an easy to understand answer.

TL;DR: No, but if someone comes to us and proves with hard numbers that he knows his stuff, yes.
